We can understand why Cohen felt so relieved when he finally gave up on religion. Still it is an exquisite song. It came to us about the same time as "Every Grain of Sand" another great hymn written by Dylan. That one seems to be without flaws.

From someone who has done it, believe it or not, I'd say give up all ideas of seduction (which means manipulation and exploitation) and genuinely like the guy.
