Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Can't speak for PIccadilly Records but the shop prices are always high. The CD is £18 there (plus P&P) compared with £11.99 on Amazon.

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, and equally if it seems negative, but is there any reason the album is so incredibly expensive on vinyl this time? There doesn't seem to be anything in the way of extras, it's single disc...? Not to mention the album itself is fairly short... As it st...

Re: LC stamps & collectibles by Canada Post

We saw two of the LC letter boxes today on and near the Main in Montreal. Still looking for the postal truck though.

Had to shop around a bit to buy the stamps. Some places are already sold out with no guarantee they will get more stock.

there exists footage of the last time they were near one another. one can't see marianne, but she was in the front row at oslo, and leonard sang to her. she waited for him for a long time in the green room after the show, but he was delayed in another room with a jewish delegation. sadly, she event...

Re: Walking weekend in Yorkshire 2019

It will be a hard task following on from Philip and Jean's varied and interesting weekend in Yorkshire which set the bar high but Black Forest in 2021 sounds fabulous Henning!

Re: LC stamps & collectibles by Canada Post

Thanks Jarkko for the cool video. Does anyone know if these trucks are all across Canada or only in Montreal at the moment. Going up to Vancouver in a few days and would love to see one up close and personal. Leslie 8) I read the Montreal Blog last night. The wording suggested that there was only o...

Re: Todd Lowe has passed away

I am so shocked and upset to hear this. Todd was always so full of life and he and Kerri were a wonderful couple. It was a joy to see them together. I will treasure the memories of the time we spent with them.

Condolences seem so inadequate.

Re: "A new album of original Leonard Cohen songs is in the works"

Wendy, there will be no tribute concerts this time (this is confirmed by the management). The album of ten new songs is scheduled to November, but we don't need to wait so long to hear the first song, and maybe some more before the CD release date. Eva Poola sent us a link to Canadian Post: https:/...

Re: "A new album of original Leonard Cohen songs is in the works"

It is now almost a year since we first had news of the posthumous album from Adam and some months since the French press told us that the album would be coming out in November, accompanied by tribute concerts in Paris, Montreal and New York. Does anyone have any further concrete news or updates? Wendy

Re: The MAC Exhibition for LC to go to New York, Copenhagen, San Francisco

I’ve never been in GL STRAND but Nikolaj Kunsthal is a lovely space. It’s an old church close by with exhibits going all the way up the tower. Both venues are very central. I am in Copenhagen most years late November or early December and I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition again later thi...

Re: 2 old books will be published in 2020

Thanks for this information WiTS. They both look like new English translations of older books. Whether Amazon which actually have them come January is another matter. I have my doubts as I have had several pre-orders of more unusual items cancelled by Amazon just before and after release date. We’ll...

Re: Event dates: August 7-9 2020

Very much looking forward to our return to Ghent in 2020 Maarten!

When do you hope to have news for us on venue location, hotel discounts etc? (I had a quick look just now at the prices for the hotel we have stayed in in Ghent previously and all I can say is ouch ...)
