Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07

The nearest tube is Camden Town. I'm off on hols for a week but when I get back I'll post address, directions and anything esle I think you need to know about the pre-Glass get together. Michael - Barnet may be in the fourth league but fourth rate we are not. Between you, me, the gate post and the f...

Is it possible to have a shower in the Barbican ?[/quote]

Henning - you can rely on the English weather to provide you with a shower (but not the shampoo or soap!!)

Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07

As some of you are probably already aware, Diane and I are in the process of trying to find a venue for an informal meetup during the day before the Glass concert and pre-concert talk at 6 o'clock. I am talking to the Green Note cafe in Camden Town to see if we can use their venue. We need to get an...

Re: PRE-PIGALLE PRANDIAL ?

David, Tim, Harry and I are meeting outside the theatre next to Leicester Square station (it's the one diagonally opposite the Hippodrome) at 6.30pm. We're planning to have a bite to eat and head to the Anjani gig for around 8.30. If anyone else cares to join us, please pm me.

Re: PRE-PIGALLE PRANDIAL ?

Just realised you have suggested Pizza Express and not Pizza Hut - yes, that might be a good place to meet. I stand corrected.......

Re: PRE-PIGALLE PRANDIAL ?

Did you read my post? Did I say I would eat in a Pizza Hut? I only frequent such places at lunchtime to maximise the lunchtime lunch deals - eat as much as you like and all that stuff!!! After 6 o'clock, I am strictly Soho. Do you know Bar Italia in Soho, or Maison Bertaux or the French Bar? No, Dav...

Re: PRE-PIGALLE PRANDIAL ?

David - we will. Soho is not far from the event - plenty of eating and drinking places to pick from - will not eat at Pizza Hut, McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken - open to (most) other suggestions. I think Tim may join us as well.

I have just booked my ticket for Anjani's gig in London. Would anyone else who's going like to meet up beforehand? Maybe in a pub/cafe/bar in Soho? The French bar is particularly good but always very busy - or Maison Bertaux (I'm not sure of the spelling!!) - both a stone's throw from the venue. Padma

I'll get on the case.....!! It would be lovely to do something before October and maybe before the Hydra trip. I'll give the Green Note a call next week and see if they will let us book it for an evening. If not, I could possibly do the event at home but we live on the outskirts of London (at the en...

Great. I am waiting to see if there is enough of a response. Quite a few of our friends in London (who have never been to a Cohen event) are going to the Glass concert and they would love to come to a Cohen get-together. We just need to rally up few more souls and find a venue. There is a really lov...

David Diane and I have been talking about arranging a get together in London for a few months now. I also discussed with Jarkko the possibility of organising something to co-incide with the Glass event at the Barbican in October (I know that's a few months away still). But if there is enough interes...

I heard the Jeff Buckley version last week on the radio (whilst driving) - and yes, it blew me away. I had to stop the car - it was the most amazing version I've ever heard. Has he done any others?
