The Muse

The Muse In the name of some great mysterious Art, On the theatre’s cold, dark stage of my heart, To this sole audience, whence curtains repel, The Muse conducts a symphony from Hell. With province perch’d in the shade of Babylon She’ll challenge the world with Her steel baton (That swift glint, in ...

Re: The meaning of it all

Well this wasn't meant to be anything thought-provoking. I was just being a bit silly actually. I gave a meaning to certain things, but then said in the end it was never meant to be discovered, though coyly--and slyly--I discovered it. :D

The meaning of it all

The meaning of it all

The sun was made for lovers
and the moon was made for poets,
blood was made for warriors
and the body was made for emotions,
God was made for philosophers
and the mind was made to explore,
but the meaning of it all was never meant to be
discovered by anyone.

Re: What a mess Beauty has made of Love.

Some notes from a few PM's I shared with someone regarding this poem: I mostly just like to humanize an emotion; personify something non-empirical. We can objectify non-empirical things and speak of them in a poetic sense, but I prefer thinking of them with human traits specifically. I've had reserv...

Beauty and Love are as they are in my poem.

What a mess Beauty has made of Love.

What a mess Beauty has made of Love. What a mess Beauty has made of Love. Violently castigated, Love retreats panicked into the corner of anxiety while Beauty delights in her wickedly swollen vanity. Beauty mounts her throne in every heart and keeps them ticking for amusement. Love plots her revenge.

Re: Nostalgia Trip

I so wish I could make more trips. Being young, underemployed, and lacking motivation really helps with nothing that will allow me to travel. Should there be an event in L.A. I will guarantee my attendance!!

Re: Nostalgia Trip

I was present for this speech!

Fond memories... just earlier today I was talking to friends of my one and only trip to New York. I mentioned mostly touristy stuff. They did not know of Leonard Cohen. But those three days were the most unforgettable. Thank you, Michael, for reminding me of this.

A Midnight Madrigal

A Midnight Madrigal Take advantage of this mood that, in darkness, lingers nigh As the moon in solitude paints the great vale of the sky ‘Neath the tender night imbued where this solemn light is from. O, when will tomorrow come? Dance, little marionette, on the edge so razor-sharp— She’ll fortify yo...

From Graves Exhumed the Stars Bewildered

From Graves Exhumed the Stars Bewildered I thought I saw you this afternoon. It could have been you. Maybe it was you, maybe it wasn’t. I was stopped at a left-turn light and a car that looked like yours came from around the corner on the street opposite me, going the direction I just came from. She...

Re: Infernus Rex

Why do my threads always seem to get hijacked? I am going to go ahead and have the balls to compare myself to Jesus. I get the people who care to listen and discuss and the people who interpret that as "listless and diskus," if you know what I'm sayin'.

Re: Infernus Rex

It seems that if you claim something called "fair use" on a copyrighted work then it's okay. Is that what you're reading too? It's hard to understand some of the technicalities.
