Arno, I like both of those quotes tremendously! All of the words of "One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong" are excellent. That song always has caught my ear and made me think... I think the first line of this song is one of Cohen's best: "I lit a thin green candle, to make you jealous of me." That line floors ...

I saw Simon & Garfunkel in L.A. last fall or with my parents. It was an amazing show and definitely one of the best concerts I have ever seen. They definitely were "on" the night I saw them. It was a definite treat and thrill to see such a wonderful pair doing their "thing!" Excellent! -Sean http://...

Beth, Thank you once again! I appreciate your warm comments and the sentiment you share about New York City with me. The fact that you like Lou Reed too is great. No one can escape my liking of Lou Reed's writing once they visit my livejournal, hahaha. One of my goals is to teach on Leonard Cohen, L...

starshaped, Congratulations on getting all the studio albums. I recently acquired all of his released albums, including the live albums (I don't have the essential yet, though)... I don't remember the exact order I bought them in but it goes something like this: 1. Best of/More Best of 2. The Future...

Leonard Cohen on the Wisdom Network

I am not sure if this is a re-run or what? My girlfriend was flipping the channels on her television and gave me a call to tell me that Leonard Cohen was on the Wisdom Network (a New Age religion) channel but she missed it. The program is called "Age of e" and is going to be on three more times... U...

Joe, Please thank Greg for me! This is a great find and a treasure! I am currently downloading all of these tracks and will burn them to CDs soon. I wonder if I should just burn them on the CD in alphabetical order or try to come up with an order of my own... Is there a certain track order for these...

Beth, Good luck with your job and I look forward to reading your posts when you return in September. I agree with you that the people of the Leonard Cohen community are warm and definitely worth remembering. Your post inspired me to write this... It is nice to see new people coming here and making f...

His self-portraits keep getting better and better. I love his references to old age and the effect it is having on him. Such sarcasm, wit, and humor are what makes his pictures let us see another side of him. I agree with Paula about how his drawings show no ego. That description is dead-on. The wor...

I enjoyed the play very much! I really liked how it was entirely made up of Cohen's words and music. They used a lot of poems from The Energy of Slaves . The actors did a great job singing, especially the man who did "Tower of Song." That was incredible! I wish I could see it again... Maybe someday....

Vern, I really like the way you described the new album. It brought back a number of the songs into my head. They are distant illusions but the feeling I had listening to them on that night remain. This is Leonard Cohen "coming full circle" and I cannot think of a better way to describe the album th...

Yes! More respect to Death of A Ladies Man ! This album is a grand experiment in excess and depression. This album represented the sick and perverted thoughts of my teenage years. I revisit this album at times to remember driving around with Jason in Los Angeles with the windows down singing to "Mem...

I would also be interested in reading about the poetry session at the convention. Unfortunately, we had to miss it because we wanted to go on the walking tour that day.
