That's really interesting Margaret. I must look out the book.
Did you know that Moses was the first person to ride a motorbike? The roar of his triumph could be heard throughout Israel!

It was the first time my friend had seen Leonard in concert. All the more reason why a dvd of sorts ought to be put together, either from past concerts or a concert in front of an invited audience; I'd accept the invitation!

Bigmac it's a bit of a broad question you are asking. the answer has to be the middle east, as we in the west call it. The area that Moses went wandering around with the tribes of Israel. Moses brother Aaron was a Levii and he was the first priest. In the modern synagogue when the Rabbi is looking f...

San Sebastien 88

Last night a friend and I were watching the San Sebastien concert on the dvd that Father Christmas brought me. My friend stated the obvious but maybe it needs restating so that the wallies out there do something about issusing an official DVD of concerts and that is that watching Leonard is a comple...

I was listening to R4 while I was having my afternoon nap, and it was a good surprise that this story should appear. The best thing about it was that at least Leonard was mentioned on the radio.

Last week on Radio 4 BBC in UK, I think the programme is on the World Service so Lizzy will be able to hear it, there was a general knowledge quiz. the specialist round was pop music and the team put thier best player in, note best, he couldn't answer a simple question about Elvis and then the final...

I've picked up this thread too late as I'm a few pages past it. But my son who has just turned 18 discovered Suzanne (The song) last year and was just knocked out. Now he listens to other Cohen and at the moment loves the song 'I can't forget'. Which really I thought would suit me at the age fifty. ...

In Taxi some years ago I enjoyed the moment when the stoned taxi driver walked into the garage and the radio was playing mad organ music. He turned it off, looked at the radio and said "You never know what Dylan's gonna do next." AND In 'Third Rock From The Sun' the 'aliens' find a box of Christmas ...

Fake studio laughter destroys any humour anyway. I always watched MASH during the 80s in the UK and found it very funny. One week I didn't and halfway through realsied why we had the American version with the fake laughter. Seems Americans are too dim to know when to laugh, would I be right Lizzy? I...

Yeh, in all seriousness it could be very funny. Jewish humour is very funny, somettimes American sit coms hit on it and are very good. Try Leo rosten's book the Joys of Yiddish, that is wonderful for its jokes. I used to say to my class now if you work hard I'll read you a joke you won't understand ...

Leonard Cohen & The Simpsons

I was watching the Simpsons the other night and the Rolling Stones were in it. And I said to my daughter, who has seen every episode at least fifty times, 'has Leonard Cohen ever been appeared'. She said 'no I would have told you'. I think he would be great in The Simpsons and we should as one get h...

The Moldy Peaches - if you don't like listening to processed music like Madonna and all that crap then on your way home from wherever today buy The Moldy Peaches.
PS I don't like Mary Black type stuff tho' I can appreciate her voice, but did you know that she's sold more cds in Ireland than U2!

Plea for dvd again

I bought a cd single and the 4th track was a dvd of the group in concert. Why can't Leonard issue a dvd of all his films that he has made recently to accompany songs as in Dance Me To The End Of Love etc. It would obviously be vastly prefferable to the rehashinfg of greatest hits packages. I saw las...
