Re: How to celebrate Leonard's 80th birthday

Lady Di wrote: My head is swimming after reading all the remarks and reasons for and against the inclusion or exclusion of one word! Personally, either is fine with me. Love the idea of the bench and the location, and of course when all is finalized, I will be thrilled to contribute. A very special ...

Re: Melbourne Story

Dear Boss, I only visit the Forum sporadically these days, have just read your goodbye post. For weeks I've meant to come back here and respond to your eulogy for your Dad and your tribute to Leonard. But I couldn't quite find the words to adequately express the warmth and surprise that those two pi...

Re: How to celebrate Leonard's 80th birthday

Oops! Sorry Mollydog, I just saw that you already put forward a Canada Council idea. But I like the idea of CC creating a special LC award in collaboration with the Forum, rather than donating to CC. How lovely, if over time, the recipient of the LC Award grows to become a beacon of the arts, as Leo...

Re: How to celebrate Leonard's 80th birthday

Some lovely ideas have been put forward here! Another thought, further to Lightasabreeze and LisaLCFAn's ideas: Didn't Leonard use a Canada Council Grant to live on Hydra and write BL? Canada Council already does wonders for the arts, but wouldn't it be special to convince them to set up a special p...

Re: leonard's faithless wife poem immortalised at cobb galle

Sounds like a very interesting concept—wish I could see the installation. I wonder if it will travel to other galleries….? sebmelmoth, don't know where you're located, but if you do get to see it at the Cob, let us know what you thought and whether there might be other opportunities to see it elsewh...

Re: A Death in the Family

Madeline,

Your tribute to Michael was beautiful. What a partner. What a loss.

I remember you on the forum from a few years back. Stay awhile, this time.

Re: Melbourne/Brisbane Story

Dear Boss, Before you go, thank you for this thread. I once heard an author/philosopher interviewed and when asked if he had regrets, he said: 'I wasn't brave enough. And I wasn't kind enough.' Well Boss, you will never have to regret either of those things. May the force (whatever it is) be with yo...

Re: Melbourne Story

Hello Boss,

I've enjoyed and appreciated reading your poems and musings posted recently on this thread.

I like the word 'courage' too. It's much more hopeful than 'fear'... even though both exist alongside each other...

I hope the Melbourne concert fills you up – heart, spirit and soul.

Re: Melbourne Story

Dear Boss,

I always check in to read when I see that you've posted in the Poetry section.

Today I found your gift of Alexandra's story – sad and beautiful and hopeful.

Thank you and your Mom for writing and posting it.

I so enjoyed this video and the way in which its elements are assembled/overlaid.

Thanks for finding and posting it Cate.
