Re: Getting Married

My son gets married next June at a civil ceremony and he asked if he could have " Hallelujah " and was told that it was not allowed at at civil ceremony because of the religious connection . Has anybody had this kind of problem with Leonards songs

Re: London O2 Arena, November 13 - 14, 2008

The man just gets better and better . The 17th June in Manchester was special but the O2 was something else . Both Leonard and the band were more confident and enjoying themselves more . We got more humour , dancing from Leonard and cartwheels from the webb sisters . I honestly think he would have s...

Re: Whats your favourite Leonard Cohen's song?

Hi Ghost
I think Ron Sexsmith likes the heart with no companion . I seem to remember reading that it was his favorite Cohen song and he covered it on his first album .

Re: Whats your favourite Leonard Cohen's song?

Am I the only one who thinks that "Coming back to you " is Leonard's best song . It seems to be a song that gets overlooked but when I hear the words especially the last verse : even in your arms I know I'LL never get it right . Even when you bend to give me comfort in the night. !! Pure poetic geni...

Re: The Best Leonard Cohen Concert of all time.

I hate to disagree but the first attempt at anything is always the best so it is fair to say the 17th at Manchester was the best . I have to say that because I was there . But you are so right about the venue and atmosphere ! . But nevermind it sounds like you got a pretty good encore the day after ...

MANCHESTER JUNE 17th

I have waited 25 years for last night and boy was it worth waiting for . If you have never seen a grown man cry you should have been sat next to me when Leonard sung " Hey that's no way to say goodbye " FANTASTIC !!!!

Re: age related cohenism

John Thanks for sharing what seems like a very similar personnal experience regarding Leonards work although I was married when I first learned of Leonard but the the initial reaction was the same as yours in that I could only enjoy him if I was alone . This was in no way being disrespectful to my w...

age related cohenism

I am curious to know if other peoples attitude to Leonard and his work has changed with the onset of age ( yours not his ) . He will always be a genious but I have found that as I have got older I have viewed him from a different perspective . In my twenties I was spellbound , my thirties I wanted t...
