Re: Sunday RC

Thankfully it was just one person, giving leaflets to display to LC during the concert. happily, no one was stupid enough to do so. Not to mention, he would not have seen them anyway.

Let Leonard sing where Leonard wants to sing. Period.

Great Refusal

I have searched on the Files but I came up empty. I am seeking to find out why LC refused the Canadian honors back when he was 35 years old. Anyone know?

Re: Bass Drum

I checked out the woofer thing. It seems that the woofer is always the same diameter or even larger than the kick drum. Drummers sometimes cut their bassdrum in order to create the woofer, which is about 8 inches in width. This drummer has a much different thing; his woofer is much smaller, looks li...

Re: Sunday RC

I fear that they will be obstructing peoples' views with the placards, which might be of different sizes. I don't know how many times they will be making a disturbance, but I hope that if it is disruptive that they be peacefully removed. I do not want them to use this concert to gain attention or to...

Sunday RC

Sadly, there is going to be a protest tonight at RCMH and they are going to try to turn the concert into a politically-laced affair. I would hate to see the concert overshadowed by this. Any thoughts?

Re: Bass Drum

Thanks Hershey> I am a drummer, but an out-of-touch one obviously. I never saw such a thing. They used to use a mike and then mix it from there, I think. I am used to seeing a mike. Do you know how this works differently, as both amplify the sound. A woofer is a speaker, no? So his bass drum would b...

Bass Drum

Hi All, I recently saw LC at Waterbury, and will see hm again at Radio City. I saw something I could not quite ascertain and I wonder if anyone knows the answer. The drummer's bass drum seemed, from where I was perched in the mezz, to have an odd something right in front of the bass drum. It looked ...

On Anjani

Anjani has the golden voice. She compares favorably to Diana Krall in my humble opinion. Her voice is simply more interesting, with more colors, not to put down Krall in any way, for she is a great, no doubt. I predict that in the not-so-distant future, when she pens her own tunes, she will wean her...

Re: April 24th at Joe's

Similar to the European fan experience, once we mastered the club’s security system, with much assistance from Esther, forum posters were hosted graciously by Anjani and Leonard in their dressing rooms. They signed things, posed with fans, and encouraged everyone to “take your time and stay a while...

What's this about the elevator? I missed it. I don't recall anything in the song about an elevator. Help?

approachability

Well, no, they're sold out long ago. Times like this, I will just have to get in another way, or see what happens. too bad I am not 20, because the 11:30 is still open. LC may not officiate that one, but he will be there, I suspect. Might be easier to say hello.

brief meet

Does anyone out there know how approachable LC would be at the Pub venue? Has anyone been at similar venues and had experience of this? In other words, will he be surrounded by security and remote, or would he be polite and open to brief words with devoted fans in this type of venue? Does anyone kno...

hotel

Have you tried nyctourist.com? It depends on lots of things, of course. I usually stay at the Pennsylvania Hotel myself, but that's because the venue is there for me. It's reasonable, for New York, and has a view of the Empire State Building on one side. There are good YMCA hostels, which I am told ...

Gig

Hi,

From Ireland? I live in NY but don't have a ticket. Damn. I am scheming some way to buy the way in though. Don't know if I can pull it off. Rather than 11:30, it's too bad the other show could not be at 7:30, but that's show biz. Anyone got a ticket to sell?
