Re: Hope for Europe? (Several threads merged)

As someone has previously posted on this thread, it's fascinating to consider Derry, the City of Culture, as a possible venue if outdoor concerts are considered. Loudon Wainwright is one of the artists playing there next year and it would be a great venue, 50 miles from me which would also be great.

Re: Hope for Europe? (Several threads merged)

Belfast would be great and the Odyssey holds 14,000 but Derry would be a fascinating venue.
Exciting news so lets hope for the best and remember Sligo was great also. Now the frustration of knowing whether to buy London tickets or hold out for a Irish concert

Re: CONCERT REPORTS: Dublin Sept 11, 12, 14 & 15, 2012

The 3 nights i attended were a wonderful experience. On the Saturday it was lovely to see the Webb sisters spend a bit of time with a little girl and her family who were waiting at the barriers of the Hospital building. It was also great to wait and see Leonard leaving last night and we were well re...

Re: CONCERT REPORTS: Dublin Sept 11, 12, 14 & 15, 2012

As with the comments above, i found tonights concert amazing. I'd attended Wednesday nights but tonights performance far exceeded the wonderful show on Wednesday. It's rather cruel to have a band performing in such cold circumstances but we're used to Indian summers in September and who could have gu...

Re: CONCERT REPORTS: Dublin Sept 11, 12, 14 & 15, 2012

What a jewel Kilmainham is, I 'm hoping to get to the next concerts earlier to see more of the gardens but even leaving it in darkness the beauty of the building shone through. I was accompanied by a person with a severe disability and finding the access to the disabled carpark was nightmarish. In n...

Re: is it ok to bring my 7 year old to a Cohen concert

Just as a follow up to the discussion I'll try and highlight how bringing my 12 year to the concert in Dublin went. It was her first ever concert and unfortunately our tickets were for row DD in the central block. She had real difficulty seeing around a tall gentleman in front and we had to do lots ...

Re: Journalist' "boycott" of the Berlin show

Foolishness and greed seem to be the key reasons behind these bizarre policies. It's very unfair on event staff to expect them to administer this nonsense. Any cameras with flashes pose a far greater issue than a bridge or dslr which doesn't require flash if you're using the correct lenses.

Re: Journalist' "boycott" of the Berlin show

I attended the Kilmainham show tonight(Wed) and was followed by a steward who told me my camera was too large and my lens (24-70mm) was too long. I pointed out that we were surrounded by people with cameras but she insisted mine was just too big.My 12year old was attending her first ever concert and...

Re: DUBLIN 2012

Thanks very much for the feedback. Ladies toilets are always an issue and i remember the ladies using the gents in Sligo until a very assertive steward was posted to watch for such crimes.Did anyone notice if the screen printed posters were on sale ?

Re: DUBLIN 2012

Loving the quote in the Irish Times this morning from Ronan Mc Greevy"FOR MANY of his fans, Leonard Cohen’s first concert at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham four years ago was akin to an Old Testament prophet coming among us to make the songs flesh" There's a positive although short review. The onl...
