Re: Leonard in Stanford with Philip Glass
I'm also happy it worked out, Baldwyn. It's interesting that Leonard thought he'd been nominated for the R&R Hall of Fame before. On Sunday I was at a Jackson Browne concert for the Ojai Raptor Center and Perla sang one song.... Bird on a Wire, what else? Sounds like it's one of her favorites as at ...

Re: 2008 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
You gotta love it. Last year Futurerockhall.com accurately predicted 5 of the 9 nominees and 4 of the inductees. This year they accurately predicted 6 of the nominees and here's their current prediction for 08 inductees.... Afrika Bambaataa Current Induction Chances: 27% Beastie Boys Chances: 82% Ch...

Re: The Umbrella
Hi Jimmy, your poem took me back to my childhood days when we all (boys and girls) played outside until it was dark (and beyond when we could get away with it). Until the inevitable call from our mothers bringing us home. And of course to those one or two people who were always on the outside, for w...

Oh, and just to re-route the thread, here's the winning poem. Congratulations, Damellon. That's right, it's comes to this I see I've made the 'most wanted' list again At 73, what are the odds on that? Coming armed with my words Forcing you to think, to feel. And what did I rob? Your sighs, your tear...

Re: Comp. poem 11 Comments welcome
It's time for me to head off now too But I didn't want to leave without an end pic of Monarchs in clusters, hibernating (I wonder if Alber hibernates). What a trip! They cover whole branches and trees at some sites, their wings overlapping to help them stay warm and reduce their chances of the winds...

Monarch Watch
That was a luverly salad, thanks Lizzy. This has nothing to do with the thread but I've been seeing a few Monarchs in the garden recently and so I've been trying to find out where best to see them during their migration. Have you been in one before? When I lived in Tahoe, I was in (and you are in th...

Perfecto, Lizzy. And while I always suck at the food thing, you can always count on me for fabulous drinks. So the wine will be open ready for your arrival. And I've got plenty of Advil for the morning. Believe me, with my Bloody Mary's and a handful of those, there's no such thing as a hangover her...

Pssst, Dam, are you still awake? Everyone's gone. Whadda you say we blow this joint for the night? Jimmy's right, it's beyond the sea. And there's a great jazz band playin' in town tonight with Clint Eastwood's son. Dunno what he looks or sounds like but we can check him out. You can come too, Jimmy...

From Matlock a young man did hail His rhyming was fast as a snail When contests did start He sure did his part A good one they often did hail Who knew when the contest was done His rhymes would just keep on and on He just couldn't cease And there was no peace For that young man who never was done Pe...
