Re: Gala Concert in Tempel Synagogue

While you are there, would you whisper a prayer for my mom and I, please?

Re: ticket availlable to Poland Event

Dear Lizzy, Thank you so much for the kind words and your support. I am fully aware that each second with her is precious, as long as she knows who I am (and she does) and even after. There's no comparing the two things - my love for mom and my love for Leonard's music - but I kinda thought I could ...

Re: ticket availlable to Poland Event

Dear all It is a pity that, for some of us, the hope of meeting in Krakow has vanished. I am among those who will not be able to attend the event, the cause being my mother's health which has taken a turn for worse in the last few months. This is actually the reason why I kept reading everybody's po...

Re: To all our friends in Poland -- Condolences

My heart also goes with you in this sad moment for your country, dear Polish friends. Today, Krakow is the centre of sorrow - but also of hope. You have proved that you can revive every time you are hurt by the drama of history, and I am sure you will find it in your hearts to start living, with the...

Auschwitz Liberation Day

For the last hour or so I have kept busy reading ("sucking in" would be more appropriate :D ) so many of the things that have been written on the forum lately... in my absence. I do read posts from time to time, only I am usually so tired at this time of night that I just cannot find enough force to...

Re: A club for Cohenites in Bucharest?

Dear Diana,

When that Cohen evening happens (probably after the Christmas season is over) we'll be sure to let you all know - and you SHALL all be there in our heart!

Re: A club for Cohenites in Bucharest?

Dear Laura, I live just across the street from the place, so no wonder I wrote my piece earlier. And I still smile for remembering that couple of hours spent under Leonard's spell. You may have noted I purposely changed the English saying a little bit; I agree, it was not entirely appropriate, but I...

Re: The Dark Side of the Moon ... a bit of fun!

The first choice for a coffee-shop/restaurant in downtown (uptown?) Bucharest, on one of the poshest streets - where both the manager and his wife are big Cohen fans. Cohen music by request for hours! It's called "Dorde".

How can such a theft be possible?
What twisted minds could conceive such a plan? And more than anything else - WHY?
I am glad the police arrested them and found the sign. Cuts into the iron can be mended - but losing an important fragment of collective memory could not.

A club for Cohenites in Bucharest?

Meeting friends (and what's more Cohen fans) is always a pleasure, and having a coffee together and listening to some good music is even better. Today I met Laura for a special purpose that I shall say some more about later, and went into a coffee shop right across the street from where I am living,...

Hanuka and Christmas

It is now Hanuka time and I think it is the right moment to wish Leonard, and all our Jewish friends here, happy days filled with the Divine light. Also, since Christmas time is nearing, may the Divine light pass on to all Christian friends here. Beyond boundaries of religion, we are all human and o...

Re: The Dark Side of the Moon ... a bit of fun!

Laura, I was kind of hoping you'd be around... but if you're not here in August, I'll do my best to help our friends enjoy Bucharest. As for local hotels, Ann and Greg, it very much depends on your required standards - from 5 stars down. I'll check and tell you a few variants. The weather is usually...
