Re: Words LC pronounces better than anyone in the world

What about the way he says "DIED"?
I think heard him say it in the I'm your man DVD and he usually says it when introducing Chelsea Hotel, talking about Janis Joplin.
It seems like he says the word 'died' with a lot of compassion.

Re: Does Leonard take requests on set lists and...

Well, the good news probably is that I'm sure LC will put together a slightly different set of songs a tour or two down the road, even if they don't take or meet requests.

good times

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O3HHkSeSiE That tour must have been a blast! It has a little something of everything. And some guy tries to get in on the on stage kiss, reminds me of a line from the song 'Teachers'. Aside from that, I really enjoy messalina79's rare clips of L.C and hope more ...

Re: Lenny on Miami Vice

Wow, this is something new to me. Has he been on other TV shows?
Just other day I saw some 'First we take Manhattan' video clip with him at an airport where he's getting into a limo and he sort of seemed or looked like an actor in that clip.

Do you ever make your own compilations?

Sometimes when an artist or band has many albums or many compilations, I'll often make my own. In this case Leonard Cohen. A few of his "Best of" collections are pretty good, but they're always missing a handful of songs I like, so I make my own, a double CD-r. I also like to do this because by acci...

Does Leonard take requests on set lists and...

Just wondering if Leonard changes his live set list according to classic songs people haven't heard him play in a long time, does he take requests if he gets enough, or how is his live set determined ? Man, I'd pay some good money to hear him play "Here it is" live as well as so many others. I think...

Re: Four songs from 1968

This is a real treat. Thanks so much for sharing it. I really liked the second guitar(?) backing Leonard's on "You know who I am".

Re: Adam Cohen says he's ready to embrace his father's legacy

Yeah, I think it would almost come natural to them both and I bet Adam would forget all about the "living up to his father" or "being in his shadow" business even more. And like you say, the people would really love it.

Re: Leonard Cohen & Kate Bush?

How about a Leonard Cohen and Marianne Faithfull duet?

This should maybe be in another thread, but I always thought they had a few things in common and I'm surprised they haven't worked with each other musically.

How many books does Leonard Cohen have total?

I keep seeing a different book by L.C almost every couple days that I hadn't heard about before, I can't keep track, he has written more than I thought! So, the question is, how many books total, in his lifetime has he written? That could be paperback, hardcover, poems, stories, whatever. And for th...

I think Adam and his father should make music together.

Re: My new (LC) website

I went right to the guitar chords section! This will really come in handy instead of searching all around for them. Here, they seem to be all together. I like how some of the songs even have tabs too. The only thing that I could complain about (and I don't think it's your fault) is that whoever writ...

Re: Leonard's lyrics - can't get them out of my head.

One last thing I have to add... when I was in 6th grade, I had a Hall and Oates song stuck in my head for about 6 or 7 months, I wanted to blow off my head off so it would go away. So, at least you have L.C's songs in your head and not garbage like this!

Re: Leonard's lyrics - can't get them out of my head.

There could be a reason that this keeps going through your head, one song after another. Maybe it's trying to tell you something or at least to think of something? Maybe it's all an echo of things you've been through, are going through or think you will go through? Perhaps it's becoming like a sound...

Re: Leonard's Recent Meetings with Cohenites

The great thing about Leonard is that he relates to those who appreciate him as people rather than treating them as "Cohenites"! Pardon for replying to something old. I think you're totally right, John. Even though a lot of us here are 'fanatical' about L.C it's very cool of him to care about the p...
