Re: Who (or what) introduced you to Leonard Cohen?

Way back in the cobwebs of my brain, I remember either hearing or reading an interview with Bob Dylan. He said something to the effect of admiring a poet/singer named Leonard Cohen and I thought "Well, if this guy impressed DYLAN, I've GOT to find out who he is!" That was so long ago.........just on...

Re: How would you spend a private hour with Mr. Cohen

Oh yeah, I think I remember reading that. It would still be nice to get that close, though. Mary B was lucky, lucky, lucky! :D Everyone has a unique scent....even without cologne. Maybe I was supposed to be a bloodhound in another life..... :?

Re: How would you spend a private hour with Mr. Cohen

I wouldn't have to take up an hour of his time. All I want to do is ask him if he'll wait by Heaven's front gate (if he gets there before I do) because once he gets in, I'll never find him in the crowd......the line will be long...eternity...in fact. Besides that, (and I know this sounds weird) I'd ...

Re: Just the right answer....

I don't know about Paul McCartney, but I'll bet Bob Dylan would AGREE with that answer.....he likes Mr. Cohen quite a bit........

Re: You May Be A Leonard Cohen Fan If …

Well, here's another one of my LC/Canadian experiences which might make another entry for Dr.H Guy's list: I work in a museum. Yesterday, two women, in town for an equine -related event, came in and after I gave them the opening greetings and told them what was where, I asked where they were from. L...

Re: You May Be A Leonard Cohen Fan If …

Good grief, I've made Dr.H Guy's list 3 times. I'm guilty of wanting the photo of Leonard and Lorca. There, I admit it. My Cohenphillic disorder is rapidly advancing also: I work in a museum and we are having an equine -themed exhibit. My boss gave me the task of coming up with a music list to play ...

Re: Letter to LC Poem

To Izzy and Carm and Imaginary Friend and everybody else who's posted on this thread concerning my poem: Good G-d, I hope ALL OF YOU are writing your own poetry or essays or stories or something, because your RESPONSES alone, are poetic! Wow, lots of imagery twisted around and around into a beautifu...

Re: Letter to LC Poem

I don't know what to say here except.....thanks a million for the responses everybody. I see a lot of good stuff on this thread, people with more poetic gift than I have. I don't know where this came from. I woke up the other morning out of a dead sleep with the phrase "silvering into sterling" in m...

Re: Silly poem about LC

Thanks, it's silly, but I had fun with it. I posted a more serious poem in the "Poetry by Forum Members" section. I am NOT a poet, so I don't know where all this is coming from all of a sudden.. ..but I come by it honestly, I guess.

Letter to LC Poem

Humbly submitted, Not Fair (Letter to LC) It’s not fair, Here I am at 40 Lamenting my “youth” I do not belong in this age In this body I should’ve known you When your hair was dark As a bronzed crow’s wing in summer When your eyes were not Quite so gentle as they are now But no, here I am, a seventi...

Silly poem about LC

I was reluctant to post this in the fan poetry section, because it can't be considered a serious poem. Sounds more like a Dr. Suess book about LC. I guess it might make a nice childrens' book for grownups! I had all these words floating around in my head and they just came out on a scrap piece of pa...
