Re: LOSS (Widower)

Thanks leonardmtl. I was struggling earlier on to catch the correct phrase to illuminate what a widower endures. Serendipity struck shortly afterwards while we were watching a TV Drama... Widowers feel the all engulfing 'crashing of the waves.' Stranded on a beach; pounded remorselessly; dragged out...

Re: LOSS (Widower)

I believe that widowers find life after Loss to be a real minefield. Widows will have been the stalwart of family life, emotional, economic, practical and unselfishly. Widowers will have done what men have been expected to do for thousands of generations. Finding that taking care of themselves is no...

Re: Newness Yeartub wishedness

Auntie Vi writted...... "On the other hand, Freud is always right, and that I'm usually sure about." On the other hand I have four fingers and a fumm. Dearest Cate, how kind, how kind. Oft have I wandered lonely as a shroud that floats on high o'er valleys and lumpy bits. I feel that I can o...

Re: Newness Yeartub wishedness

I am now sitting at my sofa, with my laptop on my lap, waiting for my mug of tea to cool enough to only slightly burn the inside of my mouth. I have managed to remove the rather dainty foot which I shoved into me gob earlier, in order to take my tiffin. I would prefer to have my favourite brew, bein...

LOSS (Widower)

LOSS (Widower) Rattling blades revolve to silence On the unfinished lawn I look up to see inside the kitchen window You're not there The sob sucks the life out of me From the deepest pit Swelling, uncontrolled, unbidden To choke me as I scream silently For breath and release I glance in hope to your...

Re: Way off topic question - full body scanner at LV airport

A very tight piece of string/sellotape/elastic band etc., helps. But the 'discomfort' makes one's eyes water. "Never travel without a spare set of diapers," is what I say.

Re: Way off topic question - full body scanner at LV airport

A quote from Elizabeth... "Because our bodies have muscular memory, when the bones [body] are repositioned to a different [appropriate] position, the muscles react with a "that's not where those bones or WE belong... and the muscles gradually move the bones back into the status quo [albeit wrong] po...

Too much money in their pockets and they'll end up with a bad back.
They can be a pain in the arse, or a 'chiroproctologist' as we say. ;-)

Re: Way off topic question - full body scanner at LV airport

About chiropractors.... I find it strange that they never seem to finish their dozes . It's like....endless! Infinity! I am suspecting that they do their work but never to the finish line. They always leave you off wanting to come to him again and again and again and again and again! :( There is a ...
