Re: Monologue

For each of us it is hard enough to "know thyself", let alone anyone else.
"But that don't make it (chat-time) junk."

Boss always turns us into a sparring partner.
You watch!

Re: Monologue

Jamesy, what is 'sunshine'?
Good question.
Maybe you can answer it also.

"The birds they sing, at the break of day
start again, I heard them say"
don't dwell on what has passed away..."

You're not "off beat" Tchoc
you're right on the money. It is up there for me too.
Though my siblingly transitory favourite (at the moment) is "Love itself" (Ten New Songs).

Re: Paper Thin Hotel

Love your post holydove. I'm in there with you all the way! It is a catchy tune with a rare perspective. "sex as a gateway to transcendence" (listening to his lover making love with someone else) "I learned that love was out of my control." is perhaps what is most liberating and frightening in life,...

Re: Overcome

Hi Paul, "...Offer to me all thy works and rest thy mind on the Supreme. Be free from vain hopes and selfish thoughts, and with inner peace fight thou thy fight.” (BG 3.27-30) or, in other words, "I've got no choice but to commence..." (Paul Wade Haddad) HA! Yeh, I love the Gita. I always have a cop...

...But barriers are best when they open and close so let it all in or give it the hose I've got no choice but to commence... Ha Ha, "give it the hose"...(or let it all in) I like this attitude Paul. You sound ready to "fight thou thy fight!" as Krishna says to Arjuna in the "Gita". http://www.inner...

Re: The poetry of "Ten New Songs"

Your English is better than mine, Eduardo! The singer is sad but at the same time proud of his permanent wandering in babylon, probably quite far from the herd. Yes, he seems to wallow in it, Babylon, as an observer....and hence, "far from the herd." That moody blues daydreaming melancholic saunter....

Bollywood and Leonard-esque sensuality.
The author has interesting insights on all things artistic.
This article, "The Nautch Girl Strikes Back" is worth a read; as are all of the pieces I have read by this guy.

Re: influences on leonard?

The Mystic influence? Sufi influence? I was reflecting on the gap between thoughts and the journey among that gap between those 2 thoughts. Somehow I ended up at The Window, Leonard's song. Apparently he took the image from an old Sufi poem. Sufi's are mystics, so it fits for me. I posted these thou...
