Re: Tom Jones' interpretation of Leonard Cohen's 'Tower Of S

Yes lets give credit where credit is due. I think that Tom Jones does this song justice, sings it honostly (even with the glint in his eye). I love the video because it is done in Leonard Cohen's 'spirit'; the window, the walls are bare, the step on the stair. It reminds me of another Cohen Cover: L...

Re: Lenny Cohen door Mart Smeets

Here a nice article from Mart Smeets.

Yes. But it's 'her' braids and blouse, not 'my'. Just a tiny difference :)

Re: Music You're Listening To

http://www.shankartucker.com/ That is very beautiful. Thank you. This morning on the radio I heard this song of an artist I had not heard before Paolo Nutini. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-rLR4zAJ3s I rather liked what I heard and started listening to the lyrics and when the chorus came, surprise...

Re: Had to go Crazy to Love You

Hi, On Blue Alert the lyrics say: "I've been saved by a blessed fatigue". Another understandable difference is that Anjani sings "My braids and my blouse all undone". I love Anjani's version of Crazy to Love You; find her singing it heartbeakingly beautiful. But it is now also wonderful to hear Leon...

Re: "elaboration of a tube" - any interpretation suggestions

I can't resist...'boob tube' is slang for television I think you have hit the nail on the head. :D In the dutch language the TV or a radio used to very often be referred to as 'de buis' which in English is 'tube'. Using this metafore seems perfectly logical to me in view of the quote that B4Real po...

Re: Most Frequently Listened Album

But if I had to pick an official album it would be Field Commander Cohen (live 1979 tour) because it has so many great songs and I love Raffi Hakopian's violin on it. Bev, I Love this album also. Usually take ik with me when I'm driving. The violin is beautiful on it. Like you for a long time, I li...
