Re: New layout on the Forum

As I'd switched to Windows 10, for a minute or two, I thought the new layout was a Windows glitch, but eventually realised it was a new layout. I really like it, fresh is good! Thanks as always Jarkko and Rauli

Re: Banjo Bopping into Hydra

You are very kind sir - I'm on malt whiskey rather than a roll! Otherwise I would never have had the courage to try painting again, let alone post!

Banjo Bopping into Hydra

Thought I'd get the pastels out, after a ten year hiatus, just to see ... all at sea! And I wasn't going to post the portrait of Lenny, as it's the first shot at doing a portrait and there are quite a few mistakes - if you're being kind, it COULD be The Man, however Ann tells me I should, so I have.

Re: World's Earliest Piano

Hey there Mary and George! Salutations from Amsterdam - I fly home to Perth tomorrow, whilst Ann stays on to deal with the last of our paperwork trevails for registering our Oz marriage in Germany! God help us! Anyhow, glad you liked the pics, I so wanted you and George to be on Hydra, but nevermind...

Re: Hydra 2015

Salutations people Ann and I would like to add our heartfelt thanks to Jarkko and Eija for the wonderful weekend on Hydra. I know exactly what's involved in organising such events, not just in the planning, but also in the day to day execution, you really can't relax at any stage. Thanks also to the...

World's Earliest Piano

I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to the Greek Government for giving me permission to practise 'Bird On The Wire" on the World's earliest known piano at the Acropolis.

Re: Take Sufficient Medication With You

There is a current warning to travellers visiting Greece, that all pharmacists are on indefinite strike and visitors are warned to take sufficient prescribed medication with them.

Re: Nevermind no bench ... what about ...???

i just thought I would mention that the Le Mans 24 Hours is on during our 'Bench Free' weekend. I mentioned this personal sacrifice to Ann and she replied "And so?"
Please, no tears, I am shocked that she doesn't understand what I'm forgoing for Leonard!

Re: Hydra update: no bench in June??

Bench or no bench, it's vital to carry on, in support of Jarkko, the architect and the Hydra mayor etc, not to mention the well being of the forum and respect for Leonard of Hydra. 'We all have the sort of person who's objected to the bench seat and public access in our communities, we call them NIM...

To Tour Again, or Not.

Time it was, oh what a time it was … whoops, that’s not quoting Cohen, that’s some bloke called Simon! Oh well, it fits my whiskey-laden musing – the all-time greatest Leonard Cohen band. Like so many of us, I’ve been lucky to see many, but by no means all, of Cohen’s bands / on stage backers ... an...
