Re: Apology

I can't speak for Mick but as for me I have "gotten it wrong" many times. I have thought I understood a post and responded with what I thought was wit or just bullshit for fun and it all went wrong. There is almost no way to backtrack when that happens Adam. But, most of us have been there - done th...

Re: In Digestion

Sideways, Your lines reminded me of another old poem I found in my storage boxes: She bounces through the day now in her size 18 “I’M PUBLISHED” T-shirt, stretched bum-tight right above her bulbous double-knees. Only invested $70 in the anthology to see her one verse on Page 443. No one can take the...

Insomnia surprise

Haven't been sleeping lately and found some old writings. Box of poems written when I was 14 to 15. Dated all. Ah, the memories of the beginnings of a life of melancholia. Guess it was the door I chose to open. Here's two to share from 50 years ago from young Dar. So cute. It really makes me feel po...

Re: open letter to 'the british medical journal'

Meaning...I sound nuts?! I'll always feel comfortable sharing the odd flight of imagination with you G. No need to think about it. It's nothing serious. :)

Re: open letter to 'the british medical journal'

I enjoy your writing more than the portrait paintings probably because I would like to see the words become a painting. The best of both worlds! Not realistic but some sort of interpretation of how (say we have a phobia about jumping in the pool) and we become the sacrifice standing before the ragin...

Re: silhouette cameo (60x50cm canvas)

Yes. Tell the dentist you must be numb for the procedure and maybe a bit of nitrous oxide too. She wants to save that tooth, so that's good. I understand the anxiety. It's almost impossible to control. Once it's over you'll be good to go. Let us know how it goes. (I'm using this thread as a chat. I ...

Re: silhouette cameo (60x50cm canvas)

Thanks for the spare change Matt. You get the idea. It's a good feeling. Help yourself to how posting on social media can be a bit like panhandling. I enjoy your poems and you may take the thought anywhere you'd like. I'm not writing creatively these days so help yourself. I often think about how co...

Re: silhouette cameo (60x50cm canvas)

Your art work is a wonderful expression of your amazing creativity G. But, your poetry. You can write man. And I really miss the way your words used to stir this community up. No one quite knew what to make of you when you let loose. You come across as very gentle and mellow now. Not that it's a bad...

Re: silhouette cameo (60x50cm canvas)

Although my post was true G I actually didn't "have my hand out" on this one. I was trying to compare the culture of the homeless in my neighborhood, their constant requests for spare change, and how they do not expect any but sometimes get lucky and get a few cents with the social network way of pu...

Re: silhouette cameo (60x50cm canvas)

So, G, I live in low-income housing in a low-income flat and I have a low-income. When I walk the four blocks to the small grocery store there are at least eight "regular" homeless people with their shopping carts and usually a few floaters coming through. One woman is in her sixties, never wears sh...

Re: Melbourne Story

Adam and Cate, Holy smokes can you two use words. How the hell do you do that? I have never read a biography of Leonard or researched his personal history. I like to keep my poets a bit of a mystery. So...I do that with both of you too. Wherever you've been, wherever you're going, keep showing up he...

Re: Monologue

Be nice or not. Water to ice wood to fire the lights go out in a heartbeat rage unreachable ergo ego..... O, hell. I started to write this poem thing and decided to stop. Don't worry Boss. I don't think you're nice or agreeable or anything of the sort. Rage away. But this is my ego giving your ego p...

Re: Monologue

Watering plants. Bringing in the mail. Carrying water. Chopping wood. The Way. The Tao. Nothing to do Boss but what you're doing. You're doing it well. Your honesty gene is a gift...and a curse? Thank you for sharing so much.

Here now,
