Re: Vienna, Sept 24 and 25

in Dublin the 10k public sung the chorus to So Long Marianne in the torrential rain I was there that same night and yes that was glorious. The sun breaking through during Hallelujah, people standing on the chairs to sing along to the choruses of Marianne (first performance of that on the whole tour...

Re: Vienna, Sept 24 and 25

I was amazed how quiet the sound system was, you couldn't hear a word Leonard said between songs and even during songs someone ten rows away breaking wind would drown out everything. The problem with having three different gigs in the same building at the same time, I guess. Certainly, I spent 600+ ...

Re: jarvis cocker performing in manchester same night as LC

I was just about to buy tickets to see Jarvis Cocker play Manchester University when I realised it's the same night, 30 November, as Leonard's gig at the arena. With it being Leonard's last night of the tour we may have a surprise in store. I think not. Whilst I know Jarvis is a huge LC fan and att...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna - Sept. 24 - ON SALE

Cheers richardj, my hotel is two minutes walk away so won't need transport on the evening anyway, but thanks for clarifying. Had free travel throughout Switzerland and Austria this summer with my Euro 2008 (Geneva) match ticket and that cost less than half the price of LC ticket! Not comparable in t...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna - Sept. 24 - ON SALE

Random tarty post, mostly directed towards Vienna and thereabouts LC fans: I am travelling over to see the great man "in a concert hall in Vienna" etc, but am flumoxxed by the fact my concert ticket includes free travel. That is great if true, but I can't quite work out exacytly what and when travel...

Re: Royal Albert Hall - what's happening???

Take a break and relax! Nothing is going to happen in the near future. If and when something happens, we will be among the first ones to hear about it. Thanks for the heads up on this. Like others I have been checking the Albert Hall, Seetickets and Ticketmaster sites several times a day! Good to k...

Ticket complaints rocket

A story on the BBC website about complaints about ticket agencies rocketing this month: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7576627.stm There's a link to the government organisation who deal with the complaints - Consumer Direct - near the bottom right of the page. Just in case any of the UK us...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna - Sept. 24 - ON SALE

One thing I will now say in defence of the Konzerthaus is their box office is darned efficient. The ticket I ordered late on Monday arrived from Austria this morning. The local (Brighton) ticket I ordered on Friday from Ticketmaster I'm not expecting any time soon. Plus ordering direct from the Konz...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna - Sept. 24 - ON SALE

Hi, I apologise if I have been rude on this board, but I got quite angry earlier with someome claiming £160+ is a reasonable price for an LC gig. To be fair, I have actually paid that (for the actual gig in question) but I still don't think it's reasonable even if it includes having Len's babies ect...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna?

No-one in their right mind would expect the venue/promoter (I'm not sure who actually sets the ticket prices, although I would have thought it was more down to the venue than the promoter) to set the prices artificially low because they think it would be a nice gesture to do so. These people are no...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna?

As I wrote above, the ticket price is first of all a function of the artist's fee. And don't forget the Konzerthaus is one of the smallest venues on the tour so they need to charge more than larger venues would in order to recoup that fee. Manchester Opera House = 1,920 capacity My second row LC ti...

Re: Royal Albert Hall tickets ?

Has anybody heard any more about the possible RAH shows and/or when tickets might be going on sale? I daren't ring the venue box office again just yet! As several people have said, if RAH goes ahead it most likely wouldn't be announced until two dates at the 02 are sold out. Given that the first da...

Re: Konzerthaus in Vienna - Sept. 24 - ON SALE

For what it's worth the venue seem to have (or did a minute or two ago) odd single seats dotted around in rows that oeticket are showing as sold out. Just got 6th row from stage near the centre. Might have all gone now though. Was going to go to Paris - there'd been a 5th row side seat available onl...
