Re: Looking for Prints - help me be a great husband

Great idea devin! Where are you geographically? There are a number of galleries around which deal with Leonard's art prints - I know of ones in the UK (Richard Goodall Gallery), Norway and Canada (Toronto and Vancouver) to name just a few. I imagine any one of them could point you in the right direc...

Found that I would need to Subscribe, too, and don't do Twitter, so can't get to it that way, either. :(
Did you try the Twitter link anyway Lizzy? You shouldn't need to be registered on Twitter to access the link to the FT article (though I could be wrong).

Re: The Hydra Bench: trees & bushes!!

Thanks for the update Jarkko (and Lakis). It;s good to see that the trees and bushes are in place at last.

We were originally booked to leave for Hydra tomorrow morning. We had no choice but to cancel but I miss it like crazy. It's going to be a long wait till 2021.

Re: Article in the Guardian about Leonard and Hydra

Thanks for the link Hugo. As it happens I was due to see Polly launch her book in Manchester today with a little help from her friend Dave Gilmour. I will now have to wait a little longer though the organisers promise the book and a signed photo will be posted out soon. Vickie - the book is due to b...

Re: John Prine hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms

I was desperately sad to read the update on John in the early hours. I am hoping against hope that this is another health battle that he will win .... He had cancelled his UK dates twice, in Sept 2019 and Feb 2020, and new dates for Feb 2021 went on sale a few weeks ago. Wouldn’t it be great if it c...

Re: EVENT POSTPONED

I’m sorry but not surprised to hear that the event will be postponed Maarten. But none of your hard work should be wasted and the meet up in Ghent will be all the sweeter for the extra wait. You know my views on postponing for 1 vs 2 years, also that I am happy to roll my registration fee through to...

I think someone is confusing their presenters! English (Kent born) David Frost looked just like Clive James .....

Re: The Event and Corona...

Hi Maarten First of all, great news from Belgium that there appear to be some positive signs from the lockdown. I wish our stupid government had taken decisive action 2 weeks ago. I fear the UK will be the next hotspot. We just heard this morning that even the heir to the throne now has COVID-19 and...

Re: Leonard exhibition now in Copenhagen

I am hoping that the exhibition will be complete when it comes to San Francisco. Wybe may be able to add more but I just missed a few items in Copenhagen. Perhaps the most notable omission was the recreation of Leonard's study in LA with the hologram of Leonard sitting watching the traffic. Also mi...

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

It was six years ago today and actually about this very hour, when Leonard played live for the very last time, here in Auckland, New Zealand. I was in the front row and watched as the whole crew came on stage. We enjoyed a united celebration before Leonard skipped off, so nimbly, for a final time. ...

Thank you for posting the original text (and translation) Jean. I am looking forward to reading it when I've got time to sit down and concentrate on the Spanish language.

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

I'm still waiting and will be for some time. The Official Leonard Cohen US store shipped my CD bundle last night. It will be delivered by DPD - estimated delivery 8-22 days. And that's not including the inevitable delay at UK Customs. Amazing service for the $22.97 they charged me for shipping. Not....

I would have been tempted by this but I have already booked flights to arrive on Hydra on 31 May. I have however booked the RTE Concert Orchestra shows at the Bord Gais Theatre in March. Anyone else planning to go to those?

Re: Marianne's son

Thanks M. It’s nice to see some reasoned comment from someone who knows and saw for himself. Much criticism has been levied at the reference to Marianne’s abortion in the film but actually I felt it needed to be there. It was so telling of M & L’s relationship and I also felt perhaps she didn’t want...
