Re: First We Take Manchester.....

I'll be there on Thursday, and having read some of the accounts of the Dublin gigs, I really can't wait! My tickets finally arrived today (though pesky Ticketmaster site is still telling me that my order is 'being prepared for dispatch' , so until I got home from work tonight I was worried th...

Re: Manchester meet ups

Hi Yousef,

You could always try Scarlet Mist (http://www.scarletmist.co.uk) instead of Ebay - they don't seem to have any tickets available at the moment for the Wednesday show, so yours might be very welcome to someone...

Re: Find, sell or swap tickets here

Whoever doesn't get Jondi's ticket can always have the one I'm offering, way back in Row V! (Don't all rush at once now...) To be honest, it feels a bit cheeky to be trying to flog a seat way back there when I've just had a look at Ticketmaster and found that they're now offering tickets for the sam...

Re: Manchester Back on Sale

Thank you so much for this, Jondi - I've just been able to get two great tickets for the Thursday night, so now my best friend (who introduced me to Leonard Cohen in the first place) and I can actually go to hear him together, instead of my friend going to one of the Manchester gigs and me heading o...

Re: London, 02 Arena, July 17

Well said, Annie. I've never been to the O2 before, so have no idea how good/ bad/ indifferent a venue it actually is - but I find it hard to believe that 20,000 Leonard Cohen fans won't be able to create a pretty special atmosphere, no matter where they put us!

Re: hotels in Manchester

I used to live in Manchester, so am not a great expert on its hotels (never needed them!), but am happy to recommend places to drink/ eat... The Briton's Protection ( http://manchesterbars.wordpress.com/2006/11/06/britons-protection/ ) is a great pub, especially if you like whisky :) - it's across t...

Re: London, 02 Arena, July 17

Hey,

I'm going to be there too - very near the top, very near the back (I might bring a parachute as well as a telescope!) - but as long as I'm in the same room as Leonard playing live (even if it is a 'room' the size of an aircraft hangar), I'm happy!

Haggis is lovely stuff - with neeps and tatties, naturally. And generous quantities of single malt with which to wash it down.

Mmm, hungry now... :)

1. Last Leonard song listened to? Chelsea Hotel #2 2. When is the last time you played one of his songs for someone? What was their reaction? Can't remember last time I played one of his songs to anyone who wasn't already a fan... However, one of my friends (the one who introduced me to LC) and I d...

Two peanuts walked into a bar in a dodgy part of town.

One of them was assaulted.

Hello,

Yes, the programme was shown down here (I'm one of the few people I know who generally thinks of Manchester as being 'down South' - all a matter of perspective I suppose).

Very good to see LC on the telly. I'm inclined to echo Kathryn Williams' sentiments...

Sophistikitten, you got there before me... No children, under any circumstances, ever! But some day, yes, lots of cats... Tom, I largely agree with you on questions of (in)fertility and what to do about it (or not). Wanting a child, to my mind, is like wanting a lover - it can be a very powerful des...
