Re: not quite the end?

Geoffrey, Personally I don't think it's that much about leaving out Lorca, I guess it's rather because Adam has musical experience and also was working close with his dad on YWID, so he may have more insight into what Leonard's process and demand were when it comes to a perfect result. And remember ...

Re: not quite the end?

I wouldn't say disorder, I myself do it too when it comes to writing practical notes just for myself. It indeed has to do with saving time of course, but the reasons may depend on the given circumstaces. - Like just keeping a quick note because you have to do something else right now (I admit in the...

Re: not quite the end?

I'm not sure where this reasoning shall point to. You can clearly see on that said list that he also wrote "Santiago", "Torn", "Hills" and "Hummingbird". What about that? Also, if you take a look at the photograph on the back side of the "Old Ideas" booklet, you see the track list written by Leonard...

Re: not quite the end?

The title of this song makes me wonder if there is any relation to "The Captain" from "Various Positions". Some leftover lines and thoughts that evolved to something else through the years or something like that? Or maybe there is no relation at all. I'll go through "The Flame" and "Book of Longing"...

Re: Happens to the Heart - song and video released

Do you mean information on the meaning or on the slight change?

As for the change I can only surmise it's been a reason of polishing the line.

"Meeting Christ and reading Marx" just flows more smoothly.

Greetings,
Dennis

Re: not quite the end?

There is also that Javier Mas interview where he mentioned of having recorded more songs than fitting on one album ( https://www.heraldo.es/noticias/ocio-y ... 41220.html). The passage is "«Grabamos muchas de esas canciones, no van a caber todas en un disco» ("We recorded many of those songs, they w...

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

I understand that Adam says there will not be any more albums with Leonard Cohen. But why not. We have the full recorded voice of Leonard reading Book of Longing, why not compose music to some of those poems. I for one would buy such a record I do agree. But yet, what about Javier Mas' mentioning o...

Re: The Municipality of Hydra names a street after Leonard Cohen

My sign came today :D It's aluminum with some printed film. On the back side there are two strips of double-sided adhesive attached so you can apply it where ever you want. The size is 25cm x 13,5cm x 1mm (inches: 9.84 x 5.31 x 0.04) I photographed it, but don't know how to upload pics directly, so ...

Dear Robert, I really like this one.

It's got the right tone of irony veiling the sorrow behind it.

A Garden.

A Garden. The garden I've been tending, I watched it lose its shape - Once or twice I've tried my share to trim the growing grass - But then I just surrendered, learned to appreciate the beauty of its wilderness - That's when I stopped to care; Now that you try with force to fix what has no need to...

Re: The Municipality of Hydra names a street after Leonard Cohen

Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum, though a long time reader (over 20 years). I just recently stumbled about a Greek firm which is selling replicas of the street sign (€ 10 plus shipping). You can order it here (though I don't know if they are shipping outside the EU): https://www.odonym.com/produc...
