Re: Cardiff meet 3rd Sept

Hi folks, We are nearly there. If anyone can make it with a little time to spare, I recommend meeting in the pub "the Duke of Wellington", it is less than 5 minutes from the venue, sells good ale and is unpopular with the youth of Cardiff. should meet our requirements perfectly. http://www...

Re: Keith James - Songs of Leonard Cohen UK Tour

I agree, a fine evening of (mostly) Leonard's songs. There was an audible intake of breath when Keith James suggested that " not everything Cohen has recorded is absolutely brilliant". As I was leaving I had a chat with a group of twenty year olds who were very knowledgeable about all thin...

Re: Judy Collins Dublin February 15th

I'll be seeing Judy in Cardiff on the 12th feb, at a very small venue (350 capacity). She does hold an important place in music history for all of us here. Enjoy, indeed.

Re: Angry American

At first I thought this is horrendous; then I realised it must be some sort of post-modernist irony. Viewed in that light it is quite funny.

Love song to America

I saw Michelle Shocked last week, in an intimate venue in Cardiff, and she was tremendous. She sang this (new) song. She addresses the USA as if she was talking to someone she is in a failing relationship with. Well worth a listen.

Re: Bob Dylan

Is it a joke you ask. Very difficult to tell. But even if you were stranded on a desert island with nothing else to listen to, you could never get used to it; see for yourselves....

Re: Cardiff meetup

As much as I would love to have taken you around the purveyors of the finest ales in Cardiff, it is not to be. Looking forward to seeing...
