Re: Some self- review written at night

It's a bit scary, but also pretty funny too, seasoned with a touch of nostalgia to see one of my oldest poems coming up again. I thought they were lost within the forum's vast eternity as well as my former nickname (Chaske). Still nice to see it bobbing up again, even if the subject of discussion se...

Let Go.

Let Go.

Been polishing the pebbles
till only grains were left

I wore them in my pockets then
like precious little gems

Now that I've crossed the Desert
I've left them with the sands.

The Book of Night.

The Book Of Night. The Book of Night is open wide, with pages frayed and worn - I cannot cross the other side, don't trust my own records: They sided up with silence, like shadows of a thought - Your countenance is fading, until its grip is gone. Sometimes I think it's working, Sometimes I do not k...

Re: Tour 2016 (just a rumor)

That is a pretty good idea. I attended the last Monty Python live performance last year that way (in a cinema in my city, via satellite broadcast). It worked perfectly. The audience even cheered and applauded like in a live situation. You pretty quickly forget that it's "just a broadcast".

Re: Tweet by the Webb Sisters about new LC music

Another new song title for the coming studio album has been given by Leonard in an interview concerning the "Can't Forget" release: In an interview with Rolling Stone around the time of Popular Problems, he explained how he knows when a song is working. "You can pretty well tell,"...

Re: New live album: Can't Forget

So there's still that mysterious track "Stages". The two covers are marked as covers, as well as the two new songs. So "Stages" seems to be an original Cohen piece then (as it's not marked as cover). But not a "new song" (as it isn't marked as that either)? - So perhaps...

Re: New Album: Leonard Cohen - Can't Forget on retail sites

I've never heard about Stories of the Street on soundcheck.
Man, stupid me. My mind wasn't really present when I wrote it seems. Of course it's the "Stranger Song" I mean, what a bad fauxpas...

Re: New Album: Leonard Cohen - Can't Forget on retail sites

That seems to confirm the above track list then...? It's a very great one but I'm a bit disappointed the great "Stories Of The Street" sound check isn't included. Can't remember from when it is but it starts with a very long instrumental. I really love this version. Even slightly more than...

Re: New Album: Leonard Cohen - Can't Forget on retail sites

Well there is one more interesting hint for the puzzle (I haven't seen posted here yet) on Allan's new page: March 7, 2015; Chris Bynum Facebook Comment: Chris Bynum commented on my Facebook entry about the album: I saw this [Can’t Forget CD] at Roscoe’s [Roscoe Beck’s] house last week. I won’t give...

Re: New Album: Leonard Cohen - Can't Forget on retail sites

Now when I start to think of all the information we have: what if the CD includes all the songs made and performed on the Grand Tour, which up to now have not been published (Got A Little Secret etc.) – Hence a real “souvenir” and also no overlapping with the other live records… Just a thought. But ...

Re: Tweet by the Webb Sisters about new LC music

i'm sure this must mean another album this year a Right what I was thinking. And: We will find out in the not-too-distant future Speechless. Just speechless.... Do you think the supposed new album on its way will have the same cover coherence as OI and PP- with the shadows etc.? And as for the titl...

Re: Tweet by the Webb Sisters about new LC music

Wasn't there the hint at the London press conference for PP that he's already "in the middle of another album" with Patrick Leonard? I think I remember him saying something like that... This and Jarkko telling us at the end of last year there were no tour plans but a year full of other sur...

There has been a discussion and some guesses around the time before the album got out.
The whole thread is here:

That sounds very interesting.
I hope it will be translated into English (or German) some day.

Interesting ranking.

Personally, "Recent Songs" is one of my favorite ones though.
