Alex Turner covers Leonard (again)

Not sure what you people will think of this (or if it's even being posted in the right space - sorry Jarkko!)

(For what it's worth, I think he absolutely butchers one of my favourite Leonard Cohen songs. Taking one of his rawest moments and making it slimy. Gross.)

Sharon Robinson

Just saw Sharon at Bush Hall. Utterly brilliant. I asked afterwards whether she thought Leonard might tour again. The response - "Well, you never know with Leonard. Certainly don't rule it out." I said "well, what's your gut feeling?" She said "I don't know, and I don't like...

Re: Leonard and Tony Hancock/Ray Galton

Whenever people say Leonard is gloomy, or depressing, I find it just so wrong. Gloomy and depressing are bad things, and I couldn't associate them with Leonard ever. In my head, I find the most apt description is that Leonard's music has a dark beauty. And that's probably why I derive .so. much joy ...

Band

My copy of Popular Problems arrived on vinyl the other day, and whilst I perused the sleeve, I realised that I didn't recognise any of the band names. What's happened to Sharon Robinson et al? Or does he always record with a different band to the live one? It seems odd to me that he'd suddenly chang...

Will Leonard return to the UK?

HI there, I understand from reading previous posts that there is no tour planned at all for this year. But I was thinking you are just the people to ask; Will Leonard tour the UK again? I understand he is incredibly healthy for a - nearly - 80 year old man, but still, am I hoping in vain? Someone pu...
