Re: Will there be posthumous disc?

Re "Born in Chains," I was just surmising that Patrick Leonard might have done the arrangement but I am probably wrong. I just remember saying he would like to do it again, that it was just thumbtacked up for now.

Re: Will there be posthumous disc?

Yes, Born in Chains on Popular Problems is not the strongest version by a long shot. Nor did I like the uptempo part of "Did I Ever Love You." These were Patrick Leonard influences that I didn't care for!

Re: My Life With/Without Leonard Cohen by Ruth Wisse

As for his physicality, yes. I noticed that he looked like any other chubby Jewish kid as a preteen. There was one period when he was a bit plump during his adult years. It was not until he became that whippet of an older man that he truly came into his own. He was quite tiny and fragile on some lev...

Re: My Life With/Without Leonard Cohen by Ruth Wisse

Your comments move me to tears in the truth of their resonance. Leonard is indeed the voice that moves me to listen to it daily. His inner search parallels my own and his failures as well. They must penetrate to a level that personality cannot reach. Yet his physical beauty itself was a great gift. ...

Re: Montreal: comments and feelings

I think I would be completely "undone" if I visited Montreal, the gravesite, special places, etc. It would be too much for this pilgrim. The question I often entertain is how he managed to make so many of us fall in love with him, that higher kind of love....

Re: Will there be posthumous disc?

As I read what you and others experienced with Leonard, it feels obvious to me that he "knew" more than he ever let on. How he would just randomly turn up? C'mon....Leonard. What a guy. What an impression he left on so many of us. And you received more than one "chance" encounter...

A fabulous gift! Rich and intriguing, it connects us to Leonard in an intimate and honest way.

Re: Important Announcement in August/September

I, too, definitely prefer Leonard doing Leonard! No one else is HIM. Simple as that. Good thing we have lots of CDs et cetera. What I hope for is that they will do a CD of his songs that didn't make it on any of the other CDs. There must be quite a few. The orchestral music doesn't move me because i...
