Re: Greece Poems
"A Theatre for Dreamers". I resisted this for a long time, preferring fiction or biography, not a melange of both. It is too easy to 'float' your story on real people's lives, putting words in their mouths which they probably never said, though may have written. With you there, LisaLC fan! But event...

Re: Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, film by Nick Broomfield
Yes, I found this film both beautiful and sad, as life is, as this world is. Did wonder how much contact LC had with Marianne over the years, before the Oslo concert, before that final sad and beautiful e mail. Probably not a lot? But it is good that they communicated before the end.

Re: Leonard Cohen on Google Street View
Thanks for this, good to see LC able to relax outside and chat with a friend towards the end of his life. I find nothing unsettling about this. We all have photos of loved ones who have died. (I have no time for euphemisms such as "passed" , "passed on" , etc. We live - we die.) Do we dump these pho...

Re: Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, film by Nick Broomfield
What a shame this film got such a limited release in Ireland - only those living in Dublin had a realistic chance of seeing it. Glad I have ordered dvd, look forward to that, but would have liked to see it on the big screen. Count yourselves lucky those who did!

Re:
get the feeling YWID will still be regarded as his final true work. I agree. Would be more appropriate. Think I'll resist buying this Album if it is ever released, having found "The Flame", sadly, a damp squib. Best part of it is the song lyrics, which we already had. Most of the rest of the stuff ...

Re: Who will appear in the tribute concert?
I heard about this yesterday. I was quite shocked at some of the omissions ..... Wendy Why? They are professional musicians. They need to make a living. That's what they were doing when they supported LC and did it so well! Perhaps they are not as affluent or as free as others who can jet off to Mo...

Re: Leonard's tombstone
I am posting straight from facebook, Leonard's tombstone has just been erected. Today it's his yarhzeit, first year of his passing according to jewish tradition, who is ruled by the moon and not the sun. Today is the day. Photo by Chantal Ringuet http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/LCgrave.jpg Well do...

Re: Leonard's tombstone
One thing keeps hitting me in my (artist’s) eye though is the different angles of perspective between the headstone in the background and that of the stone in the foreground. I would have thought both would have parallel perspective sight lines. Yes Mary, I noticed this too. But then, as we know, t...

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert
Something I'd say we can all agree on is that this forum is a great idea. Thanks to Jarkko. Perhaps some need to be reminded that a forum is a place of discussion, a place where people can air differing opinions. If everyone here "sang from the same hymn sheet" it would be so tedious, and I for one ...

Good to hear from you Tularosa, thanks for your support!
Yes, I too look forward to "the Flame."
A whole year away, but should be good.

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert
Most of those who are not going to Montreal have probably tuned out of the forum by now. The big build up to the "important announcement" began in July. Over the months of "patience" many posted their hopes, modest ones really : an unpublished work by Leonard, a new recording, some said they didn't...

Re: 'The times they are a-changing...' Montreal concert
with Tickets start at 40 Canadian Dollars (27Euro) its almost a free show. if you really wanted to go ... Hard to complain with that. Don't think many of the forum members would be buying those (not quite free tickets) do you?! You would be very far back, to put it mildly. Don't begrudge those who ...
