Re: NOW THE COUNTDOWN: Waiting For The News To Come

Feels to me if there is a delay while they get it ready, it almost certainly relies on some kind of web development? Maybe an online archive? that would be great, but I am also hoping there is some kind of physical product coming which is new and exciting. Anything is welcome, though.... We'll see.

Re: Where were you the first time you heard Leonard Cohen?

In my bedroom, probably in 2004... My dad heard me listening to Bright Eyes and said I should listen to Leonard Cohen, he gave me a CD (original greatest hits with the gold cover) and said I could have it because it was too depressing for him. I remember Who By Fire was the one that really got me th...

Re: Waiting For The News To Come

A few things I think we're overdue... - Vinyl versions of I Can't Forget and Cohen Live - A definitive, high-quality, vinyl (and CD) box set of all Leonard's recorded works. - DVD of the final tour, final show even? - Archive live recordings like Neil Young has been doing for a while. Surely there's...

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Can't speak for PIccadilly Records but the shop prices are always high. The CD is £18 there (plus P&P) compared with £11.99 on Amazon. W Seems really unusual for Piccadilly and Norman Records (online store) to charge more than others, Norman actually has a price match deal so they will have to ...

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Thank you for the advice. It really does raise the question why it is so expensive on the LC store in that case, and at Piccadilly Records, and are there possibly 2 versions? I don't mind paying more for a deluxe/ltd version... Hmmmmmmm. Any light can be shed from anyone?

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, and equally if it seems negative, but is there any reason the album is so incredibly expensive on vinyl this time? There doesn't seem to be anything in the way of extras, it's single disc...? Not to mention the album itself is fairly short... As it sta...

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

I am grateful I had the moment to take him by the hand and thank him for his work, and what a wonderful man he was for that minute we crossed paths. I am deeply upset by this news, and I wish much strength to you all as well as, of course, his family and friends at this time. I will never forget the...

Happy birthday to the great man. I'm on vacation from the UK in Southern California, maybe I will see him shopping for Cheetos at 7-eleven? Here's hoping!

I do not post often, but of course I feel this to be one of the moments where it is non-negotiable in my mind. Thank you for all your hard work maintaining the community for us all, and keeping us up-to-date with all things regarding the great man. Happy birthday, friend, and I hope it was a fine one.

Re: Major LC Exhibition to debut in Montreal

I'll keep a keen eye out to see how this comes along. Do we know if there will be any launch event or such? Would be nice to see a Q&A with the great man himself. I would love to visit Montreal one day, and I will certainly look into flying over from the UK for this should it look to be an excit...

Re: New Vinyl Reissues via Sony CMG

Have MOV released these again or are these the ones that have been around for a few years? I did actually get the Various Positions pressing and love it, also The Future although for me I don't think that LP benefits hugely from vinyl format (though, of course, is amazing).

New Vinyl Reissues via Sony CMG

Leonard's first 3 albums are getting new reissues via Sony Music CMG in April this year. All 3 are available for pre-order on Amazon, prices £16.99. I only have the original pressings and haven't gone for any reissues so far apart from Live Songs which was on Sundazed I believe? That sounded superb....
