Album recommendation please!

Hi LC fans. I'm currently having a real phase of listening to Songs of Love and Hate. For some reason the album is really speaking to me at the moment. Alongside that, I'm listening pretty much obsessively to Nick Cave's album From Her To Eternity (the Avalanche link being how I naturally progressed...

Unified Heart Lapel Pin

Hi all I lost my Unified Heart lapel pin on Fri 11th Nov. (I'd put it on especially, and it must have fallen off while I was outdoors) I bought it at the gig in Surrey, UK at Mercedes-Benz World which I think was 2009. There's a (sold out) version on the LC shop but the one I had was plain yellow an...

Re: did anybody dream about Leonard ?

I've had several dreams about Leonard. They have generally been similar - we're in a room either sat on chairs/stools, or sat at a table. Usually there will have been other people there and they would have drifted out leaving just us. (Occasionally it's been the other way round and he'll slip out th...

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

It's taken a while to post on this forum because I feel so sad. It feels like something I can't share with many people around me, because, well, he is a celebrity figure, not a family or friend, and he died at 82. On the day that the news broke, I was going out to meet a friend (not an LC fan). I pu...

Re: Famous Blue Raincoat - my killer

Hello - you might be interested in my blog post, which analyses the song a little. https://thislittlespaceinbetween.com/2016/04/14/the-desert/ I always see the raincoat being torn at the shoulder as a symbol of world weariness. That it's 'famous' suggests that the image of this character (or maybe h...

Re: Come Healing - a wedding song?

Two years later...I thought I'd update you all haha! I didn't go down the aisle to Come Healing in the end. (We chose a Tom Waits song that was special to us both). We did, however, do the 'exit' down the aisle to 'Dance Me To The End of Love, and we also incorporated some of the lyrics from Sisters...

Famous Blue Raincoat and the desert

Hello fellow Cohenites I'm more of a lurker on here, but I've just written a post on my blog which I thought may be of interest to some of you. As part of some preparation for further study (something I've wanted to do for a good few years) I have started a blog on the concept of 'home'. While there...

Re: Come Healing - a wedding song?

I've just seen this and will have to listen to this song from that very specific, particular perspective. Hope others will, too... and then comment. Of course, it will always remain that it is your and your beloved's wedding to do as you will. Thank you - for replying more than anything! Very nice ...

Come Healing - a wedding song?

Hi all, I'm getting married this year, and my (and to a lesser extent my partners...:p) love for Leonard Cohen is going to be very prevalent in the ceremony. I really like the idea of walking down the aisle to 'Come Healing'. I think the poetic nature of it and the soft, haunting music is perfect, a...

Arthur Brown on Love Itself

A touching account of what 'Love Itself' means to Arthur Brown, featured on the Radio 4 Saturday Live show on 13h July 2013. Go to 1h 7m 36s (especially to avoid the Teddy Bears Picnic thing before!) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b036tgfr Can also be downloaded as a podcast (too big in size for he...

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

Will all the original booking fees be refunded as well? I notice that they are posting the tickets out this time - at least I did not see an option to print your own ticken on Eventim but I was booking very quickly. Yes I believe booking fees are also to be refunded- thats what I've read on all com...

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

Hi prettylies & welcome to the forum. Ticketmaster had their own specific allocation of seats for Hop Farm. I imagine they will have their own allocation for Wembley too so you shouldn't have to worry about that. The "best seats" thing probably refers to the front few rows which were sold through Ev...
