Re: Pre release streaming in Europe...and worldwide

nah ok - let me say I've listened to this four and a half times tonight. I like the production - I like the arrangements - I like the swooping alt country thing going on in places - I like the choir like arrangements of some of the vocals (is it the Webbs again? I'm sure it is - if not they are good...

Re: Pre release streaming in Europe...and worldwide

I am almost speechless... The production on this album is so bad it hurts.. And Leonard even ruined one of the most beautiful songs he has ever written: Born in Chains The album is actually so bad and my disappointment so huge that I might not even buy the album... Even "Death of a Ladies' Man" is ...

Re: What's your favourite song from each LC studio album?

Looks like I messed up with 'Death Of A Ladies Man' I think I missed page three of this thread but lets not go home with a hardon about this...next one I've looked at is the future - and I could well have made mistakes here so feel free to make corrections :? Votes so far is Be For Real - 0 Always -...

Re: What's your favourite song from each LC studio album?

Has anyone knocked this data into a spreadsheet and published the results as a pivot table (if only I knew what that was). Well insomnia has grabbed me by the teeth tonight and so I'm doing just that - starting with everybodys favourite DEATH OF A LADIES MAN - I just love this sozzled slab of vinyl...

I was just going to correct a few things that I wrote late late last night but maybe best to delete the whole thing!
Why oh why do I keep breaking that 'don't post when drunk' vow that I made!

Re: CONCERT REPORT: LONDON, JUNE 21, 02 ARENA

Also I want to mention about the beer drinking issue that has been raised a few times here; Some of us are just too old for acid and amphetamines now. Of course the best way to witness any event is on acid but we are not all as young as yourselves. It's just one of the misfortunes of still wanting t...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: LONDON, JUNE 21, 02 ARENA

I feel very moved; it's great reading these reports; this forum. I've got so much to say that it is best if I do not start. Can I instead ask: I really want to know - what was it like from the £25 seats? Ok here goes I'm going to talk after all because you see when I heard about theses seats, well, ...

Re: Concert Behaviour

And if I can just add to that - my girlfriend didn't want to go because the tickets were so expensive and although we're not rich I was arguing that the tickets are too cheap - I was saying 'I want to see Leonard Cohen and he is worth more than this! And if the tickets were affordable the place woul...

Re: Concert Behaviour

And regarding the initial post by Athnuachan, yup, I totally agree - first time I ever saw Leonard Cohen he was just five years old at my door singing Good King Wenceslas and something else I can't remember, I just remember how shocked I was to see a five year old already drunk and smoking a cigaret...

Re: Concert Behaviour

And didn't I read somewhere that they had to wake him up to go onstage? It's fascinating to read posts by someone who was actually there. Wow. I read something recently that LC was watching Hendrix from the side, a set LC has to follow, and that he was calm from Mandrax, he was told that Bob Johnst...

The Partisan

'An old woman gave us shelter..then the soldiers came, she died without a whisper' This line bothers me. Why do the three young men leave her to die for their lives? It's horrible - Is it this horror that LC wants to convey? But the three were hidden and the old woman 'died without a whisper'...Did ...
