i found the interview - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7787355.stm. if you scroll down in the page there are two audio pieces - in the first one- Cohen says - he took just 6 verses out of almost 80.

Hallelujah - how many verses did actually Cohen write ?

Does anybody have any references for this issue? A lot of rumours... But is there any interview , recording or somehow that Leonard Cohen refers to this .
