I enjoyed reading about your experiences with the dophins Lizzy. I and my family had a wonderful experience a few years back not with dolphins but with their smaller cousins, porpoises. We were out at sea (not too far from shore) in a small boat with an outboard motor which we had cut and were just ...

Byron, thank you. I am familiar with this particular poem. I spend my working day in the company of people over 65 and delight when the scenario you describe occurs. :D

Lizzy, oooops!!

Lizzy, yes you are right. The written word is a powerful medium and of course you gain a sense of who a person is from their postings. However, I feel that some people are able and/or more willing to express themselves under a nom de plume than they would under their own identity, much in the same w...

Don't you think that having anonymity gives you that bit more confidence to voice your opinions and not feel as intimidated?
There are very few people that post using their real names or indeed even state where they live.

Hi Lizzy :D Hope all is well with you and that things are 8) as they are with me. I am pleased that you have managed to track down a CD of Nicks. Yep, it was I that recommended The Boatman's Call to you so I am glad that you ordered that one. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. Perhaps ...

Andrew's Procurator Fiscals' Office :!:

Thank you for setting the scene of your experience Byron. You certainly do seem to be a very sensitive person and one that 'picks up' on things  !!!!!

Cheers

Hallo Elizabeth :) I hope you are :D today! Yes, I hope to get the chance to see Winged Migration soon. I love birds, they are very special beings. I too abhor hunting for the hell of it. It's different if someone is hunting for food to survive where the animal has a fighting chance and is respected...

You're description of the suggested Spirituality discussion room had me    Lizzy. I think it's a really nice idea Taigaku. I agree with others that our spirituality suffuses all aspects of our life and we don't divorce ourselves from it at certain times ie when we participate in the f...

Sorry to take so long to get back Pete :) Just to elaborate a wee bit - I always feel that when I'm out in wild remote places, or not even that wild and remote, just out in the countryside or up in the hills that I have a greater connection to everything be that my surroundings or the people that I ...

:D Hey Lizzy - you found it!!!! Your perseverence was worthwhile - great idea for a thread. I'm never very sure about interpreting lyrics particularly of Leonards but I'm going to now - not just because you went to so much trouble in bringing the thread here Lizzy - well maybe it is!!!! Anyway.........

Hi Makera - have you heard Mary Black another Irish singer/songwriter. I think she has a really amazing voice. I have heard 'A Scottish Soldier' - a wee bit traditional for me - I was thinking more about Scottsih bands like Capercaillie or Runrig - Celtic rock. I think that their music really captur...

:D Hi Lizzy Hows things with you? I checked Amazon out and read the comments about Winged Migration and was very impressed. You are right the signature photo is very beautiful and if that is an indicator of the film footage, it must be truly spectacular to see and I am looking forward to doing so. Y...
