Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
I used to think, after Jerry Garcia is gone, someone else could take his place and The Dead would continue. Jerry can never be replaced. It's not the same no matter how you spin it. I have to think about this for a while. I really appreciate your words Gina, thanks for sharing what Mr. Cohen is thi...

Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
I'm so hoping that you do get to attend one of Leonard's concerts, John. You will be richly rewarded by the experience. Gina, the explanation you gave from a reliable source continues to reverberate. It's also a gentle reminder of how self-absorbed we can sometimes become in our own wants and desir...

Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
I don't normally get involved in discussions like this, but this one has gone on for a while and begs to be clarified in order to give the Webb Sisters and Leonard their due as to this particular arrangement. Perhaps you will be touched, as I was, when I heard the reasoning behind this. From a reli...

Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
Thank you so much John! I really appreciate the help! Nice to meet you. Which shows are you going to? I did the Beacon and now I'm only doing Red Rocks. Most likely, missing out on the Dead. But I'm doing a Will Oldham aka Bonnie Prince Billy tour, have you heard of him? I don't actually have time ...

Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
I cannot believe this is still going on. Can you imagine how the young Webb Sisters might feel if they were to read or hear about those who would rather they not sing "If it be your will?" Has Box of Rain or others thought about that? I assume not. Perhaps you should discuss it with the g...

Re: About LC not singing, If It Be Your Will...
I know the Webb sisters are very beautiful and they sing very lovely...I really appreciated hearing them sing, If It Be Your Will...BUT I would like to hear Mr. Leonard Cohen sing that song. Anyone else? Why do you suppose he doesn't? Do you think there is a chance he will? I hope, hope and pray I ...

The Perfect LC Concert
I know - very subjective - but - for me.... this would be the perfect LC concert. I have never been to one of his shows - so - I'm not sure how many songs he actually plays for each one. I could easily add some more - but - if Leonard would play this set of my favorites in this order - I would leav...

Re: Tour in US / Western Canada (all threads merged)
CPL593H: great venue! where did you get this info from? Hi CPL593H. From LC's management. I recommended a theater in NJ - 'The Wellmont' in Montclair - It's a beautiful, just refurbished early 20th Century theater - I thought it would be cool for some shows... and I was advised that Leonard will 'L...

Re: Tour in US / Western Canada (all threads merged)
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet - but - it looks like one stop will be at Radio City Music Hall in May. Good for me because I live right next door in NJ.. however - I will be in Holland for two weeks in May (already booked) so may end up missing out. I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Cate: In fairness there are things that you guys can do that we can't - buying health care services for example. I don't think that one country is better or freer then the other - just slightly different. I gotta head out John Have a good weekend! Cate Dur.. that's what I was saying : ) Bye bye...

Re: Second Coming
Cate: Actually we just had an incident in Toronto - a Mother was asked to leave the pool to feed her baby, the shit hit the fan so to speak, it was on the news a big commotion. People staring at you - I never found that, both of my kids were breast fed until 15 months it was very rare for somebody ...

Re: Second Coming
Cate: Well actually John - I could Marry my girlfriend if I wasn't already married and if we wanted we could get married topless in a public park and if the maid of honor wanted to nurse her baby during the ceremony that would be honkey dorey. At the reception our guests could smoke pot - I'm not s...

Come on Cate - this is fun : ) I know I know.. I agree it's a dumb law wherever it is. But it looks like things are not all rainbows on your end.. http://www.infactcanada.ca/Breastfeeding_Rights.htm "Your right to breastfeed anywhere, anytime is protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and ...

Re: Second Coming
Cate: Well John - I agree one is much more extreme example of rights and freedoms of some individuals being removed for the comfort sake of others - A Mother on a train should have the right to feed her baby, a baby should have the right to eat when he chooses a fellow passenger should have the rig...
