Re: 20 years "Songs from Energy of Slaves"

I love this album, from the first time I heard it, not long after meeting Henning on Hydra. 8)

It’s so good Leonard graciously acknowledged it too.

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Re: Jackson Browne

Thanks for the set list, Bev. 🙏

I seemed to enjoy the songs more and more as he progressed through them, with the concluding encore being so appropriate and rousing.😎

Cheers,
Andrew 😊

Re: Jackson Browne

Hi Bev, I really enjoyed my first Jackson Browne concert last night.😎 The variety in the music was great, the band was fantastic, the two female backup vocalists were superb and Jackson’s lyrical merit is obvious.👌 Of the 21 song set list, I knew only a couple of songs, but Murray (who was also ther...

Re: Remembering Leonard

Remembering Leonard’s passing seven years ago with sadness, but as to who he was and what he left us, he’s always remembered with immeasurable fondness and gratitude.🙏

Ten years ago was a special time here in Melbourne, as we looked forward to various concerts here.😎

Re: Adam Cohen in conversation with Rick Rubin

I’m so glad you all enjoyed it too. I decided to listen to it for a second time tonight and enjoyed it even more so, partly because I was more focused on trying to comprehend it fully. So, not only was I struck by how much we benefit from Adam’s privileged knowledge of his father, but also by how he...

Re: Adam Cohen in conversation with Rick Rubin

Hi Alan, I’m glad you also really enjoyed listening to this.

Re Tim, it’s quite unusual for him to find something Leonard related that I don't know about, but greatly appreciate that he thinks of his father’s interests in this way. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Dar, I’m glad you enjoyed it so too. :) Adam is very considered and insightful about his father (which one would hope to be the case). 8)

Adam Cohen in conversation with Rick Rubin

This is a 46 minute podcast from 2019, which I was unaware of until my son shared it with me. I couldn't find it posted anywhere here, but hope I’m not inadvertently doubling up on a previous topic/post. Anyway, it’s a very interesting and revealing conversation between Adam Cohen and Rick Rubin. It...

Unlikely context for a LC lyric quote

As both a Leonard Cohen fan and an avid sports follower, I see these as quite separate worlds of enjoyment and leisure time activity. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to see them come together in a program (our ABC TV’s Offsiders) that reviews and analyses the past week in sport, plus the person...

Re: Hydra Meetup 2023 Photo and Video show

Wybe, great work yet again, that was another wonderful video capture of the gathering in May. 8) I recognise so many friends there, some of whom I’ve known for over 20 years, when we had our first Hydra event… I wish I had been able to join you all, but circumstances being as they were for me, it wa...

Re: casting call - Hydra

This article below suggests that filming has already commenced.

I expect someone will confirm this shortly, as our gathering there kicks off in less than a week.

Hi Vickie,

Thanks for posting Nick Cave’s justification to his incredulous fans for attending the coronation. 8)

It makes total sense, resonates with me too.
