Album cover reproductions

A Cohenite friend of mine, Grant Telford, whom some of you will remember from the Berlin Event in 2006, has created a number of beautiful stained glass acetate print reproductions of various artists' album covers, including a few of Leonard's, as per the attached photos. 8) He sells them for £20 eac...

Re: Leonard Cohen Saves Lives

Hi Brucester, thanks for that poignant personal story and I sincerely hope Susan continues to cope in this way. I’ve always felt that many outsiders to Leonard’s music, who just don't get it for whatever reason, often call it depressing and ally it with suicidal thoughts. However, for me it’s the wo...

Re: 26th January 2019

Thanks Alan, a great report and what a well organised and happy occasion, with it being a 10 years anniversary of the Leconfield Vineyard concert too. 8) :D

I'm sorry I couldn't get along to join you all for this. :(

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Re: Australian Author Tweets re Leonard Concert.

Hi Greg,

I was at that remarkable Hunter Valley concert at Bimbadgen Winery on January 31st 2009 that Peter FitzSimons refers to (though I didn't run into him). 8)

It was certainly the best concert of my life, but for reasons I won't go into. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :D

Re: Half the Perfect World - Writers, Dreamers and Drifters on Hydra, 1955–1964

Hi Greg, that's a nice connection you've made with Paul. :D I've also got my copy of the book and must say it sure is engrossing reading. Although I've just browsed through bits of it and have yet to finish it from cover to cover, it seems to have lots of information about that remarkable bohemian g...

Re: Open Mic - Budapest 2018

Also, the Open Mic session itself will be held between 16.00 and no later than 18.00 (but preferably finishing before then, to allow time before the evening program). 8)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Re: Open Mic - Budapest 2018

Dear performers, Just so as you know in advance, we will be having our 'sound check' at 11.30 on Saturday, at the main venue, the Budapest Jazz Club. This is scheduled before the boat cruise at 13.00, but might encroach upon earlier walking tours. Just let me know if you can't be there for this, eit...

Jazzy Hallelujah on keyboard

This cover version of Hallelujah has a jazzy keyboard arrangement. 8) It is performed by a work colleague and friend of mine, Shannon Green. When I first heard it, just last night, I was suitably impressed and felt it deserved to be aired here on the Forum: https://youtu.be/JDsT_SWhm48 Enjoy! Cheers...

Re: Open Mic - Budapest 2018

Hi there friends in celebration, This is just a gentle reminder that our Budapest event is just over 7 weeks away, but at this point we only have four performers who've put their hand up for Open Mic. Don't be shy, demonstrate your talent in this friendly non-judgmental environment, one that appreci...

Re: Arthur Moore has passed away

This is such sad news for me, as I’ve known Arthur for well over 20 years. We met way back in the 1990’s when I was running the Leonard Cohen birthday celebration nights in Toowoomba, as he would drive up from Brisbane, with Bernadette, to attend some of these annual events. The three of us also enj...

Breitz’s tribute in Melbourne too

As featured at Montreal’s Museum of Contemporary Art as one of the various tribute events to honour Leonard last November, Candice Breitz’s audio-visual tribute to Leonard is now also being exhibited at the Anna Schwartz Gallery in Melbourne, up until March 3rd. 8) Here’s the link relating to this: ...

Re: Sept 21st Melbourne gathering

Although there were not many of us present at this gathering last night, we had an enjoyable and meaningful time together nevertheless. :D We started out at The Duke of Wellington hotel where we had a satisfying reasonably priced meal, during the course of which we duly acknowledged Leonard with a t...

Re: Sept 21st Melbourne gathering

There are still only four of us able and committed to meeting up in Melbourne on the evening of September 21st... however, it's not too late, if there are any other takers within striking distance of Melbourne. ;-) Anyway, after consultations, I've now made a reservation at the Duke of Wellington Ho...
