Re: "Leonard Cohen Live in London" - DVD & 2CD - April 2009
I fit in the DVD last night, and am listening to the CD now in fits and starts. So far, I have to say I like the CD better -- the DVD had some editing and camera choices that left a bit to be desired on occasion. The concert overall is fantastic (though not Montreal, if I may gloat a bit), but the ...

Re: Manchester meet ups
In regard to audience 'participation' I've just received Mr Dylan's recent Helsinki show and these are the taper's comments:- I love quiet Finnish crowds, there's practically no crowd noise during the songs and the whole thing sounds great.Vocals are clear and upfront! Bob even talks and laughs! So...

I'm afraid the average american can't keep his/her mouth shut for longer than a few seconds . -FrankieCrisp Frankie - is that really necessary? God knows who 'the average american' is. I'm more worried about the 'average bigot', who tends to make sweeping and perjorative generalisations about other...

And two weeks tonight I will be in his presence. Does anyone else get irritated by people clapping half way through the first or second line of a song? I have two weeks to work on this and let it go. Hope to meet some of you. Rob. Farm yard noises at the start and during songs is normal from americ...

Re: Police playing Manchester arena on 17 June
Well I used to have a job that involved commuting from north east London to Manchester near the airport, on a weekly basis. The firm wouldn't pay for airfares so I went by car. Whenever there was a concert at the Arena, or Man United were at home, the traffic into and out of Manchester on the motor...

Re: Police playing Manchester arena on 17 June
I don't think it will be a problem Manchester is one of the best citys in the UK to get in and out of. 75.000 leaving Old Trafford clears in about an hour so I can't see two concerts in different parts of Manchester being a problem.

I really enjoyed the version of "Boots of Spanish Leather"-if it was the same one that I watched (I went directly from the youtube link) the dobro player was just excellent. The brilliant Dobro player is Jerry Douglas from Alison Krauss and Union Station http://youtube.com/watch?v=ClKSED3...
