Re: CONCERT REPORT: Los Angeles, April 10 & 11

I have not posted on this message board in years. I have been around here lingering on and off since 2003. I attended the New York 2004 Leonard Cohen event. I never thought I would see Mr. Cohen live. I could only close my eyes and put myself in the place of the live recordings until this past weeke...

Lorca

At my university (California State University of Northridge), the drama department put on a few short plays of Garcia's. His work blew me away, very ahead of its time to me. Much of it seemed postmodern...

Thanks

Dear Lizzy, Thanks for the comments. I hope to speak to my friend sometime this week and try to get him to bring a copy of his cd to NYC this summer. I have until June to try and persuade him. I describe his music as industrial/experimental. He is also a huge fan of Marilyn Manson. Anyways, I have b...

My Pick

My favorite Leonard Cohen song is "Passing Through." I have never heard a song quite like that in my life and the frankness of the melancholy lyrics combined with upbeat musical backing and pure emotion takes me away. Such a song like that is truly original. An experience.

My Friend - Teratogen

My friend Jason who goes by the stage name Teratogen has done a cover of "The Future." He is going with me to NYC this summer and I hope he brings a couple of his cds with his version of it. He makes cds in his living room playing all instruments. He is pretty shy though and actually has n...

Thank You

Thank you. All of you. So warm and welcoming here. I have not visited here for a while but I really hope to get to know you all. Bryce: Lou Reed on "The Future" would send a chill down my neck and Cohen on "The Blue Mask" that would definitely be a grand experiment. Once again, t...

My Take...

My take is that at Cohen's age he is enjoying life. Truly enjoying life. Remember those interviews where he talked about his depression going away because he thinks as one gets older the brain cells that cause depression die? He has also been doing much traveling in the past year or so. Cohen is doi...

Cohen's Influence, Yes...

I for one am a twenty year old, going on twenty one on November 24th fan of Leonard Cohen. I hope to represent the younger audience of Cohen fans in NYC this summer!

You are all great!

Arrival?

Anyone going to be arriving early this summer before the weekend starts or staying after the weekend is over?

My friend and I are planning on doing both. Probably arriving a day early and leaving a few days after the weekend is over.
