Jeff Lynn from ELO was brilliant as a Wilbury and I do have a Lionel Richie album because one of our guests left it in a room but I've never listened to it, maybe I should??

Re: How did you survive Leonard?
If I could ask a wise old jewish man a question about Life. And if I had the opportunity to ask Leonard Cohen. Id ask how did he survive not walking in the paths of Haschem? Everytime I listen to Hallelujah I am remembered the day of leaving egypt. I look around and see so many people who died youn...

Re: Thread locking.
I'm a bit of a binger. I scoff, get my fill, get bored of it then don't bother with it again for ages. It can be certain foods, computer games, scrabble etc. I'm the same with this forum. I come back to it from time to time, read all the old threads that catch my eye, reply to those I feel strongly ...

Re: G-d
When I was at school we were taught that there were no vowels in the old Hebrew language so the name of god: Yahweh in Hebrew and Jehovah (which is a derivative of Yahweh) was actually spelt YHWH and JHVH. The names were known but not the actual spellings. Therefore could this 'G-D' have something t...

What I understand of you, Vicomte, is that you enjoy to fight tremendously. Thanks to the generosity of Lizzytysh you can go on with your favorite sport. What would we do around here if she was not keeping the saloon warm and enjoyable? You will finish in the horse water container, head first. :D N...

Re: Having a Laugh with Leonard Cohen
At my age waking up at 4 am is common. It's when I do my best thinking or worrying. The other morning however I woke thinking: Suzanne feeds me orangies, I take her hand or Angie's. I lay there thinking, 'why on earth did that come into my head?'. I have been on this forum a bit recently and had com...

This is just a short clip - but I think it's worth watching - Uploaded by sofiale - Closing Time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVf5mJgcwLc Um, what was that phrase again from the Birmingham review? "An old man's lack of ease.."? *snicker* A 'lack of ease' is a struggle. He's an old...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Brighton, AUGUST 28th 2013
To quote... voodoo doll 79 from the Birmingham concert report..... He solemnly addresses the crowd saying he knows that it's been a while as he didn't want to impose but then who knows when we'll meet again. A fleeting acknowledgement that, at his advanced age, this could well be his swan song tour ...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: LG Arena, Birmingham UK - Sunday 8 Septe
First, may I say that the concert was wonderful. Loved the set list, the arrangements, everything. However, to say I was disappointed with my tickets is an understatement. Bought through this forum, the seats were start of a row, 90 degrees to the stage. It meant we had a restricted view but we als...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Brighton, AUGUST 28th 2013
It's odd that "Joan of Arc" rarely appears. I'm sure Hattie Webb could handle the female part well. The first time I ever heard the song was when Leonard sang it at the Albert Hall in 1970. I would be interested to hear Hattie (or even Charley) sing Joan of Arc but I think her voice is to...

Re: Censorship
Of course we the members do not own this, but it is called a forum so I think it is reasonable to expect open discussion of differing opinions rather than a chorus of " yes people." Since when were we a chorus of "yes people"? But open discussion does not mean you can say anythi...

Check my posts from the last seven days. No, she hasn't been censured. She hasn't apologised. The post is still there, and she doesn't have the common sense to realise that it is libellous. Robert Thanks for your reply, Robert. Have done so since. Very interesting. A voluminous poster gets away (so...

What does a Leonard Cohen fan look like?
Walking to the Brighton venue we started talking to a group of ladies who were walking our way and asked if they were going to see Leonard Cohen. They just 'looked' as if they should be. They answered 'Yes' and added that they had seen us in the same restaraunt as they had been eating in and thought...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Brighton, AUGUST 28th 2013
We got back home midnight Tuesday and this is the first chance I've had to read all the concert reports. Vicomté had read and posted a few comments about Bournemouth and Brighton but it's the first chance I've had to re-live it all myself. Wonderful, brilliant, marvelous: what else can I add to the ...
