Re: Buxton, England 1st Sept.

We'll be arriving Thursday, but not sure what time as the shower room is being gutted and refitted that week (and the previous one). We're hoping the guy has over estimated the time it will take, but we're booked into the Roseleigh for 3 nights from Thursday so will be there some time. Btw our frien...

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

I was grieved to hear this morning of Leonard's passing. Suddenly the radio is full of tributes - too late! When we heard 'You Want It Darker' in Amsterdam a few weeks ago some of us thought it sounded like a farewell. There is no satisfaction in being proved right. I am writing this through tears a...

Re: FROM LEONARD: HAPPENS TO THE HEART

I can imagine this spoken over a quiet backing track like the spoken version of A Thousand Kisses Deep that Leonard did live, or like Vilanelle For Our Time - please?!

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

What is this 'Once More for Marianne' that's listed on Amazon as being for release next month? Is this anything to do with Leonard, or is it someone jumping on a bandwagon? ***Have a look at this thread: http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=36738 It is an unauthorized/illegal boo...

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

However long the album is, it held a room full of people spellbound from start to finish. However long the album is, it was just the right length - and it finished way too soon. The lyrics were strong, deep and challenging - Leonard Cohen at his very best. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. How...

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011, 2013)

What a lovely weekend! Galway is a beautiful town set in countryside that reminded me very much of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and so felt very much like home to me. Joe had planned an excellent itinerary for us, and of course the company was amazing. Special thanks to the lovely Trish...

Re: BIRMINGHAM MEET UP?

Our tickets finally arrived last week. I was definitely starting to get twitchy! We will probably drive straight to the NEC, so will not make it to any meet-up, but will hope to bump into some of you at the venue.

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011, 2013)

Thanks to Diane for directing me to this thread, I don't think I would have spotted it otherwise. I'm so glad that there are some 'short' walkers going, as I don't think I could keep up with all you real serious folks. I'll have a chat to John before I book us up formally, though I'm sure he realise...

Re: New York Times Review of "I'm Your Man"

What a lovely, entertaining , review. The reviewer has evidently read the book (which I gather is not always obligatory) and enjoyed it, and has the gift of being able to communicate their enthusiasm for the work. I have only just discovered the threads about this biography, so am off to Amazon to o...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEONARD!

Wishing you a very happy birthday, Leonard, and a wondeful year to follow. Many, many thanks for an excellent concert at Wembley, despite the late start; and thanks for caring enough to apologise to those of us who had been inconvenienced by the change of venue.

Wembley (Hop Farm) Meet Up

So.....does anyone know of a suitable venue near to Wembley Arena? John and I are going to the Saturday show, arriving London mid-afternoon. It would be nice to meat up with anyone else who will be arriving early.

Re: PRESALE TO THE WEMBLEY ARENA

Phone them, Pili. I called the ticket hotline number and explained what had happened, and they got head office to cancel tickets I booked this morning and allow me to buy some on the second row, where my original tickets for Hop Farm were. Just a tip, though, when you are offered options 1, 2 or 3, ...

Re: URGENT: HOP FARM SHOWS TO WEMBLEY ARENA

Below is the text of the email I received. I followed the link and got seats in the second block from the stage. This is not like for like, as I originally had seats in row B. 'Due to unforeseen circumstances, Leonard’s two shows at Hop Farm, Kent on 8 and 9 September will no longer be taking place ...
