Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's poetry and novels

Yes Lisa, a safe bet we would think, as he had many years of saying her name.... albeit it with a Canadian accent ;-) And speaking of pronunciation, I've always had an affinity for the way Europeans say "LAY-oh-nard"'s name and I sometimes hear the written "Leonard" spoken phonetically as "Lee-on-ar...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's poetry and novels

Oh, one question regarding the pronunciation of Anjani's name. Dave said the 'j' is maybe silent. (His family has connections in Hawaii, and his sister still lives there). Do you know? I guess all names vary with different accents :) the presenter at the start of this interview - https://www.youtub...

Re: It Seemed The Better Way on TV show

Hi Joao, welcome to the forum! When I first started this thread I did an extensive search for that very thing and all that turned up was posted above and yes, it seems to be the same situation currently as well. The first link isn’t available anymore so here’s a present one that might not last long ...

Re: Help with Boston shows in the 1970's

Hi Dan, I just did a quick check and the only concert I found in the 70’s that Leonard played in Boston was on 09 Feb 1975 at Symphony Hall. Two days before that he was in New York and one day after it, in Montreal. He did play a Boston concert on 04 May 1985 and it was at Berklee Performing Centre....

Re: Julie Christensen's new album - A Sad Clown

Nice to catch up with you, Kush :D Yeah, I noticed that reference to "The Boss" :) especially almost the same line from his song Thunder Road except Bruce's line is, “These two lanes will take us anywhere.” I've also since realised that this song, Exile On Myrtle Beach was written by Darrin Bradbury...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Hey Vickie, welcome back! And as I said to Hartmut, there’s no time limit to give and receive good wishes, so thanks for that! Good to see things are settling down somewhat with your move. Btw – When I lived in Sydney many years ago I bought a brand new bright lolly pink Mini Deluxe which I loved. Q...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Hi Curt, Yes, we are fortunate to have attended the concerts we did and it’s simply a bonus to be able to recall them in detail. It’s thanks to this forum as a wonderful memory bank to be able relive them again as time goes on. For those not at any concert you can get a sense of what it was like – a...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

I have got to share this quote from UK comedian Gary Delaney with you: What catches my eye is short people with umbrellas! Alan, I have a good visual of that quote in my head, especially in a strong wind and/or crowded situation near tall people :) And the problem could be solved by the short peopl...

Julie Christensen's new album - A Sad Clown

Today I received this link below as an LC alert. I can't see it on the forum yet and thought members would be interested in Julie's new album called A Sad Clown. It was released in March this year - https://juliechristensen.bandcamp.com/album/a-sad-clown http://www.thealternateroot.com/uploads/1/0/4...
