Re: putting together LC's introduction songs

I agree with you 100% about the lyrics. Maybe I don't know the right kind of people, but when I have played something for them like Anthem, they get distracted and want to move on. If I play one of the others in the list, the melody and voice catch their attention and then they will start to pay att...

[quote="MaryB"]My choices have to be those that have resonated and hooked them. It also depended on who the listener was. Knowing a little about the type of music they liked made a difference. Re: putting together LC's introduction songs

[quote="mnkyface"]I think you're going to get widely different answers/lists here! Let us know if you convert any friends. I've thought about this too...no one has actually asked me for any LC music though. Heh, who said that they asked me for it? :) I am afraid I will have to just apply it to them ...

Re: songs or albums by L.C that you DON'T like?

The WHOLE album Death of a Ladies' Man. For me, it simply doesn't exist. Also, I don't like "The Butcher", "Leaving Green Sleeves", "The Lost Canadian", "The Traitor", "Boogie Street" and the song "Because of" murdered my world when I first heard it.  Actually "Un Canadien er...

Re: LC interview with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC - aired this morning

[quote="Sochijava"]I must agree with UrPal, there were a number of 'stupid' questions. I generally enjoy Jian Ghomeshi's interview style, but I found the questions to be entirely unoriginal. While I of course enjoyed hearing LC speak for some 40 minutes, I learned nothing new, gained very little new...

putting together LC's introduction songs

Hello, As I have been listening to Leonard Cohen for many years, since I was 18, I like all of his work. Some poems and songs are more favourite than others, of course and even this varies according to my mood, the weather and other factors. I am a European and my European friends are generally fami...

Re: Whats your favourite Leonard Cohen's song?

Of course, it always changes, but I would say Marianne is always all right with me. I have loved and loved this song although it is always in head to head competition with Bird On a Wire.
If I am going to that desert island, I am taking one LC CD with me, certainly.

Re: RED ROCKS POSTPONED TO THURSDAY

I am terribly sorry for the people who came from somewhere far for the concert and cannot stay till Thursday. I am in Denver and it has been raining terribly (plus lightning and thunder). As romantic as it may be - it would be uncomfortable and perhaps unsafe for an outdoor venue. I hope Leonard is ...
