Re: Matters of Vital Interest: A Forty-Year Friendship with Leonard Cohen

I’m not sure if this has been posted before. A nice little piece anyway. http://www.oldiesmusicblog.com/an-interview-with-eric-lerner-author-of-cohens-biography/ Heather Thanks, I enjoyed that. I particularly liked this bit: There’s nothing to disagree with or dispute in the book. You can open it a...

Re: Is Adam Cohen singing the unreleased songs of his father?

I wasn't offended in the least, I was merely coming to Lorca's defence, because I interpreted your remarks, your punctuation and your choice of emoji, as being somewhat negative and condescending towards Ms. Cohen. Your comments did not strike me as an innocent and merely curious enquiry as to her w...

Re: Is Adam Cohen singing the unreleased songs of his father?

...Question....Why is Leonard Cohen's daughter, Lorca, so un-involved ??? Lorca, where are you? Anybody know? ... Don't you think that the "rolling eyes" are a bit much, and rather disrespectful to Ms. Cohen? First of all, people have lives that are independent of their parents, no matter ho...

Re: never-ending gallery

It is a wonderful thing to be gazed upon with such warmth and affection (and utmost attention) by a person whom one deeply admires. Lovely picture.

Re: never-ending gallery

I've noticed that in the portraits of Leonard as an old man, his expression often seems to convey a happy peacefulness, compared to the much more common emotionally intense visage of his younger self. I am glad that he seems to have found traquillity later in life, which apparently eluded him for so...

Re: never-ending gallery

This latest painting is beautiful and rather haunting -- I love the intensity of the eyes, so full of emotional depth, it makes me wonder what he's thinking.

Speaking of haunting:
I did look it up after you mentioned it above. Intriguing concept.

That author is a different Eric Lerner altogether. He's not the one who wrote the Cohen book.
Oh, well, thank you, I stand corrected! (It's still a good book, whoever the real Eric Lerner is!).

Wow, Anny and Geoffrey, those were quick responses! I hope The Big Bang... book does not disappoint -- I found it to be very illuminating, and quite enjoyable to read. All the best!

Re: Matters of Vital Interest: A Forty-Year Friendship with Leonard Cohen

I just received this book (I bought it based on the glowing recommendations here), but I haven't yet read it. I am looking forward to it! However, as an aside, if anybody is interested in the history of science and cosmology, and its relation to religion, philosophy and politics, Eric Lerner also wr...

I am so disappointed that "loves Leonard Cohen" didn't make your list. Clearly, your priorities are all wrong.

Nonetheless, a "Stepford Wife" would probably be just the thing for you -- save your krones, and maybe you can buy one some day.
