Re: Rufus Wainwright and 1,500 Singers Sing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”

i've just stumbled upon this via a German website: http://www.voll-krass.com/es-ist-der-beruehmteste-song-aller-zeiten-doch-wenn-1-500-leute-ihn-singengaensehaut/ the header says: It's the most famous song of all time, yet when 1500 people are singing it - gooseflesh Isn't that a somewhat exaggerate...

Re: Spanish style - Dance me to the end of love cover.

why don't you do a spanish version?
You have some feeling in your voice, but the sound of the playback music coud be integrated better.

I really enjoyed the new arrangement for Lover, Lov...

Re: All the tour merchandise

I bought a sweatshirt with zip yesterday in Dortmund, not the one offered in the link above, no hoodie, grey).

I didn't see the plectra, though. What a pity, I'd love to have some of those!

Re: A short history of "Hallelujah" - lyrics, versions, oddities

Hi, I got a simple question concerning the line: "All I ever learned from love, is how to shoot at someone who outdrew you" What does "outdrew" mean here? I'm not a native speaker, I looked up the word, but I can't make sense of it. Does it mean something like "to pull out&q...

Re: Hallelujah No 1 and No 2 in UK Charts

Maybe she could pen a new version: Well, I heard there was a facebook crowd Trying to get their point out loud, Saying, ‘You don’t really care for music, do ya?’ And they say I take the name in vain And sing for Mr. Cowell’s gain, And all because o' the tune called 'Hallelujah'. Hallelujah, Hallelu...

Re: Campaign: Get Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in the UK charts!

I think Leonard should quickly record a new version, or publish a live version of this year's tour.

I would prefer the album version not to get to high in the charts, because it could scare people off and prevent them from taking interest in Cohen's other work...

Re: Hallelujah on UK X-Factor (all threads merged here)

Thanks smcx I found the program on Listen Again. My preference would be 1 Leonard 2 John Cale 3 Jeff Buckley Never the X Factor version I would say that the John Cale and Jeff Buckley versions tie for second place (I keep going back and forth on which one I like better), but Leonard is certainly Nu...

Re: Hallelujah No 1 and No 2 in UK Charts

- I'd love to know whether you think she has properly interpreted the meaining of LC's words. Has she ruined a true classic or ahs she simply added to the multiplicity of perspectives that can only make a song better? The intense lyrics of Hallelujah are open to different interpretations ranging fr...
