Re: Chicago

I see there are very good main floor seats available for May 6 now through Ticketmaster (regular pricing).

Re: Leonard Cohen and Ticketmaster

Mmm, and suddenly there are pit tickets available for Chicago as well. Funny how that works, isn't it?

Re: Leonard Cohen and Ticketmaster

I have a problem with Ticketmaster owning and operating TicketsNow in the first place. By providing this marketplace, they are able to profit from absurdly inflated prices whilst throwing up their hands and denying responsibility. In this case, they may very well not be doing anything legally wrong ...

Re: How did you do at the general sale to NY and LA?

I delayed getting tickets until the public sale because as an international customer I wanted to have the tickets sent to me and not to be call only. This wasn't an option though when I went to check out. So they are still call only. I think I saw a thread somewhere discussing this topic or a post ...

Re: Question for others with presale tickets

Actually mine says at the top of the page that the tickets need to be picked up at the venue's Will Call window.

Re: Leonard Cohen and Ticketmaster

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm certainly not complaining that I got tickets. I'm not even complaining about the price, as I gladly passed up seats in the pit that were for someone who could afford them, not me. My big issue is that lots of people who would like to see the show may miss out o...

Re: Leonard Cohen and Ticketmaster

I would say there's no question I'm one of those people who has minimal experience trying to attend a show with this level of demand. I've never bought tickets for The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, or any number of artists that were named in this context, and I've also never thought of Leonard Cohen as...

Re: Buying tickets to NYC is impossible.

I would not have the tickets I do if not for the help I got here, so I'm more than happy to return the favor. Looks like New York may be one of the toughest markets because it's also one of the likeliest places for a lot of fans to fly in from overseas. It's also well worth watching the board here, ...

Re: I'm so sad - got awful tickets for Victoria concert

Folks who still are trying to buy should be aware that the "best available" may in fact not be as good as the "best available" that comes up if you try again. The trick, of course, is that you risk losing your chance altogether. The other day when the Chicago presale started, I think it was on my th...

Re: Buying tickets to NYC is impossible. Buy from scalpers.

It has also been suggested that it helps to log onto Ticketmaster from the link provided above rather than going directly to their url. It worked for me. In the event of a dire misstep, another boardie pointed out that Ticketmaster will let you cancel an order within 24 hours of purchase if you call...

Re: Opinons: Presale vs. public sale

I missed the Chicago presale and tried to get tickets within 5 minutes of the start of the public sale. Zip. Presale today for second show, got Row J and am delighted with it. Could have had DDD if I had $250+ per ticket to spend, which I do not (even if it is somebody else's money). All things cons...

Re: The promoter is scamming us

I absolutely disagree that it was, or is, counterproductive to complain about the fact that there were virtually no tickets available for the Chicago public sale. On the contrary, I believe this is why a second show was added. Several people have posted reasoned discussions here about the absurd tic...

Re: The promoter is scamming us

Well, if "invading" means I came in and started talking, then I'm guilty. I've repeated several times that I harbor no ill will whatsoever towards LC himself, much to the contrary. I've not participated in the board previously because I'm active in the Rufus Wainwright forums, have other projects, a...

Re: Chicago

Thanks for the info, Joe. I have learned from experience the part about being logged in and having all your ducks lined up, but I wouldn't necessarily have thought to log on from here. As for your wife, you tell her this. My spouse yelled at me for buying tickets to see Jeff Buckley 2 nights in a ro...
