Re: CONCERT REPORT - Wallingford, CT - April 2, 2013
Yes, Roscoe is back, and looked no worse for wear. Leonard acknowledged him as "a leader and victim of these many campaigns." All were in very fine form, maybe most of all LC. And the set list: First set: 1. Dance Me to the End of Love 2. The Future (w/ spoken intro) 3. Bird on the Wire 4....

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Montreal,Quebec - November 28th & 29th,2
Was singing the middle verse of SUZANNE twice purposeful or just a lucky accident for the hearer? I'm guessing that it was a lucky accident. It happened after Leonard waited several extra bars to accommodate/encourage the audience to applaud Alexandru's violin solo. The applause didn't materialize,...

Re: NY vs Boston Venues
Scott — I'm a New Yorker. I also saw Leonard at the Palace in Waterbury, CT, as well as at the Wang Theater in Boston. The two venues in New York are both sports arenas. MSG in particular is cavernous and soulless. The theater in Boston is great. If you can choose only one show, I'd opt for the Bost...

Re: "Elaboration of a tube" line in "Going Home"?
Unromantic as the notion may be, "tube" must be Leonard's intended word choice. One of the most basic animals is the worm — essentially a living digestive tract or tube. We are but brief elaborations on that.

The Onion's AV Club "Primer" on LC
In connection with the release of "OId Ideas," the latest installment in The Onion's AV Club Primer series is an overview of Leonard's work — providing recommendations for new-comers looking for an entry point to LC's catalog. Startled, though, by one of the albums that makes the author's ...

Re: Montreal High Lights Festival-Exhibit of Leonard's Art Work
Hi Arlene -- I stopped in briefly to see the exhibit yesterday. I noted that the lowest asking price for the most modest-sized works was no less than about $1,300 -- so the quote you received might have been in the ballpark. Saw some works that I had not seen before. It was great to see the prints, ...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: NYC Madison Square Garden, October 23
This story suggests that Cohen is retiring, but based on numerous hints from well-placed sources, I think the conclusion of this article is just... wrong. Perhaps this topic belongs in a thread of its own, but I noticed this, too. It's really a non-story. Apparently, a writer from an online publica...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: NYC Madison Square Garden, October 23
We seem to be at a point now where we all expect the show to be wonderful and generous and gracious, and yet it still manages to surpass those expectations Last night’s MSG show was the first I had seen since Boston, five months ago. And it may have been the best I've seen. Leonard’s performance and...

Re: Seeing Leonard in Montreal, Oct. 5, 2009
Friscogrl is probably quite right. I did not leave the encounter under the impression that there was necessarily something troubling LC. But the look of concerned focus — almost wonder — in his eyes, and his serious continence, was striking. Almost stereotypical of the popular (mis)conception of LC ...

Here's the story. If it’s inappropriate for the forum, the moderators can edit or delete: As preface, I’m from NYC, but I spend a good deal of my spare time in Montreal, where I have a part share in an apartment not far from LC’s house. Many fans are probably familiar with the house’s location near ...
