This Is No Poem

Not so much a poem but rather something I found myself thinking

The moon tonight is looking pretty old
I hope its still around when I turn 50

The thing with LP's is that they are no longer practical. When the time is right I plan on putting together a nice system in a nice sound room and by some nice LP's recorded on analog in the first place. 1. Tom Waits "Mule Variations" 2. Bob Dylan "Love & Theft" 3. Bruce Springsteen "Born To Run" 4....

I'm always recommending Paul Westerberg's work. I'd go with STERIO/MONO for an introduction to some very amazing songwriting. Afterwords I'd recommend THE MOUNTAIN GOATS album The Sunset Tree. It is the latest in there catalog and is a good place to start.

Future Tour Canadian Ticket Prices

I'm curious what the prices for tickets were going for on the last tour. I figure now is a good time to start saving up. I'm thinking if he passes through Montreal I can catch him here, Ottawa and Toronto... or something along those lines.

Oh can't you know Of the purple sky and rainbow Of the peace over the lake at midnight Can't you imagine 17 year old bombers Echoless streets Without water Ecclesiastes weeping at the end That the end is now But you can't see Through your wet leather blindfold Your Sampson burnt out eyes For one is...

Boss are you Bruce Springsteen? If so why are you singing about illegal immigrants all the time? Coming to America for a better life and then charging 120$ to come to your concert? How many working class people are going to be at that concert boss? Either way I think instigating this topic to contin...

I had a conversation about Leonard's work in this context with a friend a couple of months ago. We both agreed that the extent of Cohen's work being "depressing" is true but at the same time we agreed its one of the key elements to singing and writing about something "real". For something to be true...

I think complaining is defeating the purpose of this forum. How 'bout we agree to disagree? Talking about the importance or non importance of money can easily taint the most important subject at hand. Thats my two cents.

Margaret: If you don't have Heart of Saturday Night I'd recommend that you have a listen if you can. There are a lot of good tunes on that one. Bob Seger covered the song I quoted - quite successfully really. For everybody's information Southside Johnny is in the process of making a big band Tom Wa...

What a great practice! People have been very kind to me in this corner. I've done what I can with limited resources, and limited cash. But, I love to see this flourish. To watch the 'trading' or plain sharing. Very cool. Linda. I'd like to extend my gratitude and thanks to RC and Margaret for offer...

I'm sure nobody cares about my two cents but I can say that I'm sure Leonard Cohen respects money in all its form. He's more aware then anyone that he was lucky enough to grow up with "a chance" to get into the artistic world. If he's parents told him storys before bedtime about places across the oc...

I've seen Paul Westerberg's name around here. I think someone has a quote of his in their sig. Maybe you? Anyway, I'm not familiar with him. Never heard of him. I guess a girl could do some research. I imagine there are listen clips on the 'net. In fact, I've not heard of the bulk of what you have ...
