Re: Uma Thurman as Lenny Cohen

Well, Hartmut, maybe somebody got inspired by this description of Leonard: "a guy who looks like he walked out of Boardwalk Empire with his gang of similarly attired hit men in black double-breasted pinstripe suits and matching fedoras". That's quite possible, fellow Cohen admirer. Anyway, judging ...

Re: LC wins 2018 Grammy Award for You Want It Darker!

This from LC’s acceptance speech on the 2010 lifetime achievement Grammy: “(...) I’ve always been touched by the modesty of their interest in my work”. :D Did he really say this there and then? Because I'm pretty sure it's a quote from an interview in 1998, referring to his record company Columbia....

Uma Thurman as Lenny Cohen "Uma Thurman is ready to step into one of her fiercest characters yet on Imposters. The Kill Bill star debuts as the mysterious but definitely badass Lenny Cohen" Huh. Re: Beth Hart on Leonard Cohen

I found it curious that she was such a huge fan of LC What I found even more curious was the way the interviewer interrupted her enthusiastic reply by suggesting she should talk about a living artist. Perhaps there is one or two more out there that I cannot recall at the moment... Johnny Cash did a...

Bonjour, ça va?

Indeed, it's some lines from "Non, je ne regrette rien" combined with the melody of "O Christmas Tree".

Re: Leonard singing "O Christmas Tree" (more or less)

He and Jennifer once had plans to do a whole album of Piaf songs. - A pity that this never actually happened. I vaguely recall something along those lines. I've heard him talk about it in several interviews. Here's an excerpt from one of them: https://cohencentric.com/2016/02/10/leonard-cohen-on-th...
