Re: "Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Liturgically Correct"
Regarding Rain's post too: I have been contacted by the artist too and I think my comments must have come across as even more "flaming" than yours. I apologized to Mrs Mooney as well for using harsh words that hurt her feelings. Originally, I did not want to post an apology here as well, b...

Alas, it is gone.
Was it too personal a revelation after all?

Re: New DVD
This one has been sold at amazon.de and other German sites for quite a while now. It does not seem to be a copy of "Under Review" but buyers have written disappointed reviews only.

There would be nothing wrong with the church borrowing that tune. But why not leave it as it is? Kitchen chair and all? If prayer shouldn't be about life as well, why pray? Alternatively, she should simply have taken the non-worldly stanzas and left out the rest. No need to clumsily turn it into a C...

Re: "Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Liturgically Correct"
What struck me was the banality of the lyrics. Exactly - the words would have been an achievement for a schoolchild maybe but not for an adult trying to bring across the Passion and Easter. I would even go as far to say that the original sung at an Easter mass would have been less disturbing to rel...

Goodbye poetry, welcome nursery rhymes...
Just my tuppence: Singing the ORIGINAL version in church as Mooney was asked to by an unknowing clergyman, THAT would have been something! And it surely would have given the congregation something to gossip about for years to come

Re: Tony Palmer presents "Bird on a wire"
Look folks, Leonard was NEVER an anti-war protester in, say, the Phil Ochs mould. Finally the actual point is made. I totally agree with you and am glad to hear that not everyone thinks the Vietnam scenes totally fitted the viewing habits of the 70ies or the original intentions of Bird On A W...

The poisoned chalice is sold no more... at least not in the internet shop. Coincidence? Someone worried about our health? Or have you guys simply bought the last mugs and they are out of stock?

Toxic cups, pins... What a charming little shop... Excellent!   And yet, I still find it weird that Pearlvoice and I seem to be the only ones who see the serious side to that poisoned chalice. Mine is on my desk at work; it holds my pens and pencils. Works great. Work is strenuous e...

Yes you who must leave every organ you no longer control. It begins with your kidneys, but soon comes around to your bones. So, I should really go and study Kornfield then! Should have known it was Buddhist or Kabbala or both
