TheWrongMan wrote:All of the songs were fantastic but the highlight for me had to be Avalanche, for the intensity of Leonard's performance and the focus on his guitar picking.

An enjoyable evening.
I totally agree - Avalanche was amazing! I was also very moved by Hallelujah at Coachella.

Re: Songs From The Road - Cinema Screenings

Hi Relate, Although it was great to see this, it was odd that the cinema listed it as a special event. Indeed there was no sign outside, no poster, no introduction, no DVDs on sale, and certainly no free glass of wine or champagne! I actually discovered it was showing in a tiny ad in the Islington ...

Re: Marseille, Who's going?

Silly question time: does anyone have any information / tips on how to get to Le Dome from the Vieux Port area and - maybe more importantly - how to get back at around midnight? The Metro seems to stop running at 9.30 pm and there does not seem to be any parking at Le Dome. Help! Wendy Wow, I didn'...

Re: Songs From The Road - Cinema Screenings

At the eleventh hour, I found there was a screening of "Songs From the Road" at The Curzon Cinema 2 in Shaftesbury Avenue, Central London, this evening. Fortunately, I was able to cancel a pre-arranged meeting with some old friends so that I could be there. Tickets were £12.50, and there ...

this is Vince from the Leonardcohencafe. For those of you who have ordered this dvd and are worried about receiving them, fear not. I have them in stock and am despatching them daily.
Correct me if I'm wrong - but hasn't the price on these gone up since yesterday?

Re: Lyrics of „Born in Chains“, as far as I can make them out

More worryingly its starting to sound a little like an out-take from a Lloyd-Webber production. Anyone else feel this? Exactly! I know the song has been 'a hit' with many forum members/concert-goers and I really don't mean to cause any offence, but it sounds just like something from 'Joseph' to me....

Is the 2010 European tour schedule complete?

Jarkko, would you be able to tell us if there are any more 2010 European concerts still to be announced?

Many thanks :D

Re: Leonard for Ireland?

I don't know what country has the "bank holiday" at the end of August. Even Canada has it during the first week of August...same as most countries. Well sincere apologies to our Irish friends and fingers crossed for the beginning of July, but ladydi - I am quite certain of upon which days...

If the Sligo events go ahead it will be August bank holiday weekend and July 31st is the only date listed that fits into the weekend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed :D
August B/H is the last weekend in August.

Re: Chelsea Hotel Play

It was a journalistic article about Essaouira and how it was a bohemian hang out in the 60s/70s (and it still has this feel about it today). Leonard wasn't the only person mentioned, as I recall. But his picture was the one that caught my eye! To think I might have unwittingly been sleeping in his b...

Re: Chelsea Hotel Play

A little know fact, and one I believe that has never been mentioned here before, is that there exists a second 'Chelsea Hotel', albeit under another name, in northern Africa. Grace Slick and other members of Jefferson Airplane have booked in there, Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones too, not to men...

We know that a performer was injured during an early rehearsal which involved a ski jump
Finally the truth behind that 'sports-related injury' is out!
